American progressives allied with Islamic extremists are waging war against America. One of their most dangerous weapons is political correctness by which they intend to silence all opposition. In a society where all people are valued, all people must all be heard. We must resolve problems through open discussions and constitutional democratic processes.George Madisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00553997812057601757noreply@blogger.comBlogger98125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5914340008149117575.post-46665513963822182452020-12-07T23:52:00.009-08:002020-12-08T00:04:55.818-08:00Chinese Professor Di Dongsheng: At the top of America's core inner circle of power & influence. We have our old friends. ... [But] Wall Street can't fix Trump.<iframe class="BLOG_video_class" allowfullscreen="" youtube-src-id="aeegrkPx0xE" width="400" height="322" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aeegrkPx0xE"></iframe>
<p>
From the subtitles:
<blockquote>
We know that the Trump administration is in a trade war with us, so why can't we fix the Trump administration? <b>Why between 1992 and 2016 did China and the U.S. use to be able to settle all kinds of issues?</b> No matter what kind of crises we encountered, be it the Yinhe incident, the bombing of the embassy, or the crashing of the plane, things were solved in no time, like (a couple) do with their quarrels starting at the bedhead but ending at the bed end. We fixed everything in two months. What is the reason? I'm going to throw out something maybe a little bit explosive here. <b>It's just because we have people at the top. At the top of America's core inner circle of power & influence. We have our old friends. </b>
<p>
As we don't have much time, so I won't go into details here. I'll only tell a little story. Mayor Zhang just told some stories. It worked very well. So I'll also tell a story. Oops, it's a shame that htis story ... We are doing a live braodcast on the whole internet today, and it's said that a million people are watching it, so I have to contorl how much I can tell. I can't betray others. Let's put it this way, in 2015, before the last visit of the General Secretary Zi to the United States, we know, that all our systems in the United States needed to work at warming things up, right?
<p>
So now of our party's sytems, the way that sytem could help to warm things up in the U.S. was public opinion. (So it was arranged that) the first edition of the English version of Xi Jinping's new book, "Xi Jinping" The Governance of China" would be released in the U.S. Before he visited the U.S. we wold hold a book release event to help him build up the momentum. Who shold do it? Just like today, they found out, <b>(they said to me), Di Dongsheng, you have a way with foreigners and are better at fooling them, right? Because they had seen how I fooled foreigners, and they thought it was very good</b>, so they said, "You act as the host and guest speaker", so it's very similar to our event today where I'm both the host and a guest speaker.
<p>
So the venue for this event was already decided by the leader. He said it was next week next Thursday, 3:30 p.m. Go to the most important "Politics and Prose" bookstore in the United States on 2650 Connecticut Avenue in Washington? It seems like the number. That is a professional bookstore. So we needed to go over thee for the book launch, and we needed to hurry up to communicate with the store. We all know that the East and West work in different ways. You asked me to secure that venue on such a short notice, it was tough.
<p>
It turned out that the bookstore owner was very spoiled, he said sorry, we can not host you. Then I asked, I said, you tell me, which author booked this session? What did I mean by that? There's nothing that dollars can't handle, right? If I can't do it with one stack of dollars, I'll do it with two. Of course, that's my way of handling things. But also, the bookstore owner ws very spoiled and said, "I'm sorry, I'm not going to tell you which author has booked this time slot we have our principles." So he was very spoiled. He really put on airs with me.
<p>
So I asked around and found out that he was a Democrat before and was once a journalist in Asia. He was very unhappy with out party, so he purposely chose not to cooperate. Then I thought that we had lost the chance, at least we needed to change the time and place, right? So I turned this issue over to the leaders, let the leadership solve it. I was only a guest to help, right?
<p>
On Thursday morning, the vice department head of that department who was also the real keynote speaker of that day, called me and said Little Di, let's go ahead with our original plan, at the same time and place, as we planned. After lunch I reshed to the bookstore, only to find that the leadership was there earlier than I. The reason why today we were able to follow our original plan, to execute it smoothly is because of this outstanding person. Then he introduced an old lady to me. She has a big nose. I could tell that she is Jewish by the first glimpse. She handed me a business card, saying, my name is so-and-so. I won't betray her name here. She said, my name is so-and-so, nice to meet you. Attention! She speaks very fluent Mandarin with Beijing dialect. I was very surprised. I said, "Oh my, you speak Chinese even better than I do. I can never get rid of my Jiangsu accent.
<p>
Upon hearing that I flattered her, she was very pleased with herself. She said, Let me tell you not only do I speak Chinese, but I also have Chinese citizenship. Do you understand this? Do you have foreign citizenship? If you have foreign citizenship, you can't have Chinese citizenship, right? This old lady wouldn't give up her dual U.S.-Israeli citizenship for Chinese citizenship right? So I immediately understood that she was an old friend of us Chinese people. She then said another sentence that impressed me very much. She said, I not only have Chinese citizenship but also have Beijing Hukou (registered permanent residence). I have a Siheyuan (quadrangle dwellings) on Chang'an Street in the Dongcheng district. When you come back to Beijing, come and have tea with me. If you need anything here this year, don't forget to call me. What did that mean? She could fix anything here.
<p>
Then I saw the owner of the bookstore, who was very proud of himself before, with an unhappy face, asking his employees to arrange tables and chairs. He was very reluctant as he was forced to do this. I said, "How did you fix him? We tried to communicate with hi, but failed." He was very spoiled." The old lady smiled and wryly said, "I resoned with him." Do you know where that sentence comes from? It's a classicline in the famous American Mafia movie "The Godfather". That guy cut of the head of a horse and stuffed it into someone's blanket. Of coure, the old lady was not in the Mafia, but who was she? Why did she live in China for 30 years? Why can she speak fluent Beijing dialect? And we just said, Wall Street. She is from a famous, leading global financial institution on Wall Street. She is the president of the Asia region of a top level financial institution. Of course, it would be politically incorrect for me to go on. Do you understand what I mean. If you do, put your hands together?
<p>
Okay, so in fact, that is to say, to put it bluntly, <b>for the past 30 years, 40 years, we have been utilizing the core power of the United States.</b> As I said before, since the 1970s, Wall Street had a very strong influence on the domestic and foreign affairs of the United States. So we had a channel to rely on. But the problem is that after 2008, the status of Wall Street has declined and more importantly, after 2016,<b> Wall Street can't fix Trump.</b> Why? It's very awkward. Trump had a previous soft default issue with Wall Street, so there was a conflict between them but I won't go into details, I may not have enough time.
<p>
So during the US-China trade war, the (Wall Street) tried to help and I know that, my friends on the US side told me that they tried to help but they couldn't do much. But now we're seeing Biden was elected, the traditional elite, the political elite, the establishment they're very close to Wall Street, so you see that, right? Trump has been saying that Biden's son has some sort of global foundation. Have you noticed that? Who helped him (Biden's son) build the foundations? Got it? There are a lot of details in all these. Then, so, as such a time we use an appropriate way to expres some goodwill. This is my personal understanding based on my limited professional background. If we understand this matter from the perspective of the international political economy I think there is a tactical and political value in it. </blockquote>

And all of that with the complicity of the media. Many people voted for Trump because the Obama administration had so corrupted the federal government we thought if Hillary won it would be impossible to ever get the crime gang out of office. Now we have proof we were right.
<p>
If the Democrats get away with stealing this election, they will never lose another presidential election. They have found the perfect system for stealing elections with mail in voting and they will never give it up. I never understood why some cities were such disasters with Democrat governments reelected over and over. Now I know. The opposition gave up running against rampant fraud a long time ago. If Biden is installed in the White House, it will be the end of democracy in the US. Any possible Republican candidate will never have a chance, ever.
<p>
The only possibility of draining the swamp and restoring democracy in the US is Trump. All of the other candidates are swamp creatures or will return to being swamp creatures without Trump at their side to stiffen their spine. A "nice guy" would not be able to stand up to the greatest organized crime gang in the world, in the history of the world.
<p>
People who hate Trump do it mostly because they are told to by the media and by Hollywood stars etc etc. There are plenty of Democrats who are crude, look at all the Turmp haters and what they say. It is not Trump's crudeness they hate. He was a cultural icon and TV star before he became a presidential candidate. People didn't start to hate him until <i>after the primaries in 2016</i> when Democrats unleashed their propaganda war against him. The Democrats thought he would be the easiest Republican to defeat so they waited until he was selected as the Republican candidate, after which they tried to take him down. They are still trying 4 years later. Any other republican candidate will be painted with the same type lies at the appropriate time. No Republican candidate will ever be considered "good" by most Democrat voters.
<p>
Is this a coincidence?
<ol>
<li>Covid-19 was made in a Chinese bio weapons lab.
<li>Covid-19 "escaped" during an election year in the US.
<li>China stopped domestic flights but not international flights, protecting their citizens from covid-19 while exposing the rest of the world.
<li>Covid-19 is the excuse Democrats used to allow mail-in voting.
<li>Biden is the preferred candidate of China,
<li>Mail-in voting is the mechanism by which Biden is trying to steal the election.
</ol>
The Chinese don't favor Biden just because Trump stopped them looting the US economically and blamed them for releasing Covid-19 on the rest of the world. The Chinese favor Biden because they have already bought and paid for Biden's submission (and that is independent from whether you believe Covid-19 was released to enable his election or not).
<p>
If the Democrats are not stopped now, it is not just the end of democracy in the US it is the end of sovereignty of the US. If Biden is put in office the US becomes a perpetual vassal of China.
<p>
There is no democratic way out of the disaster if Biden wins. It will be the funeral of a country that once stood as an example to the world of the benefits of political and economic freedom. It will be a disaster not just for US citizens but for all people around the world who benefit from individual and economic freedom, whether they know it or not.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img src="http://c.statcounter.com/counter.php?sc_project=11426267&java=0&security=bbb339ce&invisible=1" alt="." border="0" height="1" width="1" /></div>George Madisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00553997812057601757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5914340008149117575.post-7075455953625390212019-10-06T20:28:00.001-07:002020-11-27T18:11:14.823-08:00Conservative Search Engine: Overcoming Liberal Bias in Search Engine Results<p>
The internet has an inherent liberal bias because the mainstream media, academia, and Hollywood all have a liberal bias. So even if you use an unbiased search engine, the search results will have an overwhelmingly liberal bias. This makes it hard to find conservative viewpoints and objective news reports. One solution to this problem is to specify a list of conservative or unbiased websites when using a search engine.

<p>
I would prefer to use a search engine such as DuckDuckGo, but they do not work well when searching a time interval. The following search uses google. The search works best when you use several keywords and or a short time period otherwise sites that publish the most articles may drown out other sites. Viewing several pages of search results can also help you find articles on the smaller sites. One way to eliminate google biasing the search results is to search for news and order by date.
<p>
It happens sometimes that web sites (of all political persuasions) may use misleading headlines, over interpret the facts, or attempt to spread anger, fear, and hate. When using any search engine it is always best to try to click through links to get as close to the original sources as possible to see if the articles are interpreting them fairly. I would also caution readers to notice when an article is crafted to <a target=_blank href="https://higginswar.blogspot.com/2017/08/most-news-stories-are-crafted-to.html">arouse anger, hate and fear</a>. Remember:
<p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The people who are trying to make you angry, even if they are on your side, are trying to manipulate you. Don't fall for it. You can analyze information and solve problems with logic. <p>
What's going on now is the single greatest scam in the history of American politics.
<p>
The Democrats want to take away your guns, They want to take away your healthcare. They want to take away your vote. They want to take away your freedom. They want to take away your judges. They want to take away everything,
<p>
We can never let this happen.
<p>
We're fighting to drain the swamp. And that's exactly what I'm doing. And you see why we have to do it.
<p>
Because our country is at stake like never before.
<p>
It's all very simple. They're trying to stop me because I'm fighting for you. And I'll never let that happen.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img src="http://c.statcounter.com/counter.php?sc_project=11426267&java=0&security=bbb339ce&invisible=1" alt="." border="0" height="1" width="1" /></div>George Madisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00553997812057601757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5914340008149117575.post-48721146770606372112019-09-11T22:32:00.001-07:002019-09-11T22:33:15.007-07:00Video: Brandon Straka, founder of #WalkAway opens the Trump Rally in Cincinnati 8/01/19

Hello Cincinnati. They run a tight ship around here so let's jump right in.
<p>
Just two and a half years ago I hated Donald Trump and I feared all of you.
<p>
I'm a gay man and the liberal media that I trusted told me to be afraid.
<p>
They labeled all of you a small fringe extremist sect who had become swept up and hypnotized by a charismatic bigot who hates basically anyone who isn't a straight white man or a Russian.
<p>
It's not their job to report real news or bring truthful useful information to the American people.
<p>
No their job is to create hatred and mistrust toward President Trump and his supporters.
<p>
Why? Because the majority of media in this country do their work not as objective journalists but as a propaganda arm for the Democrat Party.
<p>
My journey away from the left began with the jarring realization that the media I trusted lied about Donald Trump mocking a reporter's disability and was completed many months after research and opening my eyes to the ongoing manipulation of fear insinuations of bigotry and racism and divisive tactics relentlessly employed by the liberal media to control minorities in this country and their political allies.
<p>
As I began to change I lost the majority of my friends job opportunities and my sense of security and what had up until that point been a constant in my life.
<p>
By early 2018 I had had enough and I decided it was time to tell the world I'm here I'm conservative get used to it.
<p>
But I knew I wasn't alone. I knew that what was keeping hundreds of thousands if not millions of people afraid of walking away from the Democrat Party was fear. So I thought okay let's form a network of support. Let's all walk away from the left together. I put out a six minute video detailing everything I found unacceptable about liberalism and the Democrat Party and I launched the walk away campaign.
<p>
I took a deep breath and stepped forward pioneering the concept of a movement to break the chains of the Democrat Party. Tens of thousands of testimonials began hitting the web from black, Hispanic, Muslim, Asian, and white Americans. Men, women, LGBT.
<p>
Walk away now has half a million strong who have joined our movement on all social media platforms.
<p>
At every event we've done around the country we have successfully changed minority voter registrations away from the Democrat Party.
<p>
I will not stop fighting for all minorities in this country to walk away from the groupthink and victim mentality of the left and join us at the table on the right.
<p>
Now let me tell you something about Donald Trump. Donald Trump crushed a candidate in 2016 that was considered unbeatable and he will win again. But think about this: President Trump does not need to pander to minority groups to ensure victory but every time he comes out on stage he announces with great pride that African American and Hispanic unemployment is at an all-time low. He has recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. His administration has set out on a mission to decriminalize homosexuality across the globe, and eradicate HIV in the United States. This is not a president who panders to minorities because he needs them. This is a president who serves minorities because he loves them. And he loves this country. We are all in this together where we go one we go all. We are making America great again and this time it is great for everyone.
<p>
I am no longer afraid of the Republican Party and I'm calling on all of those in minority classes in this country to turn off the fake news and stop being afraid as well.
<p>
To my LGBT brothers and sisters I'm asking you to do what may be the hardest thing you'll ever be asked to do let go of the past. Forgive and learn to have faith in your fellow man again. Never lose faith that people can change. If I can change, anyone can change. We can change and we'll change hearts and minds and we will have peace in this country again.
<p>
And in closing I have a few words for the man himself. To President Trump, if you had never run for president, my eyes would never have been opened. I would still be a liberal. I would still fear and hate the Republican Party. I would still be a lemming blindly following the fake news. President Trump it is disgraceful, the hell that they have put you through. But you have taken it for all of us. Thank you for saving this country and thank you for changing my life
<p>
Walk away.

Before going any further I want to take a moment to address the horrific shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. It was terrible. Eleven Americans were brutally murdered in an evil anti-semitic attack. Yesterday I traveled to Pittsburgh to meet with the families and first responders. And I especially want to thank rabbi Jeffrey Myers he was terrific. He was terrific. Fine man. We grieve for the families of the fallen and we send our eternal gratitude to the law enforcement officers who sustained severe injuries taking down the gunman. They were incredible. They were incredible. They were incredible. Could have, been, as bad as it was, and it was bad, it could have been far worse. They were unbelievable. And they got there fast.
<p>
We pledge our resolve to remove the vile poison of anti-semitism and so many other problems from our world. And we reaffirm our unbreakable solidarity with the Jewish people. Thank you.
<p>
Yesterday's visit to Pittsburgh was about coming together as a nation to comfort and to heal. After this day of unity and togetherness I came home and sadly turned on the news and watched as the far-left media once again used tragedy to sow anger and division. Sadly they took a small group of protesters far away from where we were, because we could not have been treated better, the first lady and myself. But we're representing the presidency and they did everything in their power to try to play it up and push people apart. That's what's happening, they're pushing people apart. It was fake and it was make-believe what they said. I came home look forward to seeing it and it was sad. And when we talk about division this is a big part of the division right there.
<p>
The far-left media has spread terrible lies and stories about the Trump administration and the tens of millions of people who make up our great movement the greatest political movement in the history of our country. The greatest. The greatest. The greatest movement in the history of our country and they don't even refute that fact. It is possibly the greatest political movement anywhere. I can't think of anyplace else. It's because of you. The movement is you, and it's about you, not me, it's about you.
<p>
I am proud of the fact that my administration has boldly revitalized our nation's historic bond with Israel and moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem. And remember many presidents have promised to do that. Many many many presidents, "we are going to move the embassy to Jerusalem" and then they don't do it. The reason is it is not an easy thing to do. I've done it and by the way the embassy is already built it's already open and it came in 1 billion dollars less than people thought. They should like that. They should really like it.
<p>
We've taken aggressive measures against the terrorist groups that seek the slaughter of innocent people all around the world for lots of different reasons. It's terrible.
<p>
We've taken unprecedented action to confront the regime in Iran. And we have ended the horrible one-sided Iran nuclear catastrophe. And Iran is a much different country today than the country that started off at the beginning of our administration almost two years ago.
<p>
We have forcefully condemned hatred, bigotry, racism, and prejudice in all of its ugly forms.
<p>
But the media doesn't want you to hear your story. It's not my story, it's your story. And that's why 33% of the people in this country believe the fake news is in fact, and I hate to say this, in fact, the enemy of the people. The left-wing media doesn't want to solve problems they want to stoke resentment. It has to stop. They believe that progress isn't good for profit or for whatever reason it is they're playing their game. Our movement is about safe homes, great jobs for every citizen. Our movement is about love for our fellow Americans. Our movement is for everyone and belongs to anyone who wants to build a better future. You can do it right here in the USA, right here.

<p>
<a href="https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1057488310992601089.html?refreshed=yes" target="_blank">https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1057488310992601089.html?refreshed=yes</a>
<p>
Why do Democrats think it's appropriate to protest near a synagogue where Trump was welcomed by people who are grieving deaths from an antisemitic attack? Are they so numbed by hate for the president that they can't feel anything for the survivors and victims of the attack?
<p>
The canard that Trump is a racist is a lie spread by Democrat politicians and their media lackeys. The real racists are the Democrats and the media.
<p>
The people responsible for the attack in Pittsburgh are the anti-Trump media and the Democrats who are spreading hate and lies about Trump. They have blood on their hands.
<p>
For the racists responsible for the attacks, Democrats, to protest against Trump, repeating their calumnies outside the grieving synagogue they caused to be attacked is a disgusting example of cynical, hypocritical, political duplicity.
<p>
The fact is, those protesters care nothing about the victims and survivors of the attacks. They care nothing about the victims of racism and antisemitism. They only care about the political power they think their screaming mobs are enhancing.
<p>
How Trump haters think:
<blockquote>
A crazy person killed Jews because he thought other Jews controlled Trump
<br>Therefore Trump is antisemitic and is responsible for the killings.
</blockquote>
For more than a generation they have replaced freedom of speech and freedom of thought with political correctness and it has stunted their intellectual development.

<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
<p>
Candace Owens:
<blockquote>
Black lives have never ever ever mattered to the Democrat party. Black votes always have.
<p>
<b>They have created systems that we cannot get out of. The welfare system was meant to do what it has done to our families. It has decimated our community. The single motherhood rate in the 1960's was at 23%. Today the single motherhood rate is 74% in the black community.</b> They incentivized that. They removed the black father from the home because they knew that once you break down the family you can control, you can control the youth that are growing up.
<p>
They gave us hip hop, they gave us the media. <b>They didn't give us the facts. They lied to us in school.</b> They told us the Republican the Democrat party swithched. That never happened. Okay? One person switched parties. Nobody else did.
<p>
They create this narrative every four years that the Republicans are racists. They try to scare us. <b>Are we such punks that we are so scared to try something different.</b> Because every four years they try to knock four our votes and say vote for us because the other guy is racist. Vote for us because the other person is racist.
<p>
It is time for us to stand up for our community boldly. To look the Democrat party in the eye and tell them that you are going to fight for our votes. Listen to this, and this is something you all need to know: <b>If the Democrats do not get more than 85% of the black vote, their party is finished.</b> Okay? They rely upon us. We have never relied upon them. They have always relied upon us.
<p>
This is the time for us to stand up in our communities and to fix them. To stand next to one another. Words like uncle Tom, house negro, house slave, those were created by leftists to make sure that we are constantly at war with one another. It is time for us to stand up against that and to stand together. This is our time.
<p>
<b>Make America great again is for us too. We are Americans first and foremost. We have been in this country since 1619. Before any other immigrant group. When he says he is going to make America great I don't get scared because I am about as American as it gets.</b>

<p>
<blockquote>
Political violence must never ever be allowed in America and I will do everything in my power to stop it.
<p>
In recent days we have had a broader conversation about the tone and civility of our national dialogue.
<p>
Everyone will benefit if we can end the politics of personal destruction.
<p>
We must unify as a nation in peace, love and in harmony.
<p>
The media has a major role to play whether they want to or not.
<p>
[Crowd chants "CNN Sucks"}
<p>
And they do indeed, they have a major role to play as far as tone and as far as everything.
<p>
<b>And we all say this in all sincerity but the media's constant unfair coverage, deep hostility, and negative attacks, you know that, only serve to drive people apart and to undermine healthy debate.
<p>
For example, we have seen an effort by the media in recent hours to use the sinister actions of one individual to score a political points against me and the Republican party.
<p>
Yet when a Bernie Sanders supporter tried to murder congressional republicans and severely wounded a great man named Steve Scalise and others we did not use that heinous attempt at mass murder for political gain because that would have been wrong.
<p>
It would have been the wrong thing to do.</b>
<p>
Many other examples could be brought up.
<p>
Nor do we blame the Democrat party every time radical leftists seized and destroyed public property and unleashed violence and mayhem.
<p>
<b>Yet the media has tried to attack the incredible Americans who support our movement to give power back to the people.
<p>
It's what our movement is.
<p>
Our supporters are some of the most honest, wonderful, like you, principled, hard working patriotic people on the face of God's earth.
<p>
They pay their taxes, follow our laws, care for their neighbors, go to church and contribute to charity and they are loyal to our country.
<p>
All they want is a government that is loyal to them in return.</b>
<p>
And that's what they are getting from me and that is what they are getting from my administration and you know that.
<p>
But despite all of this, just came out, 94% of the press I get is negative. Even when I do something wonderful, its negative.

One Conservative's Perspective.I voted on the first day of early voting, straight Republican. I usually vote straight Republican on election day including midterm elections. This year is the first year I feel a sense that the outcome of the election directly affects my wellbeing so I am voting in the midterms out of a sense of self interest rather than civic duty. My sense of urgency is higher than it was in 2016. Under Obama I felt like a member of an oppressed group (conservatives oppressed by liberals). I don't want to see any part of the government back under control of the Democrat oppressors who despise me because of my race, gender, and beliefs about religion, politics, and economics, and who try to stifle my freedom of speech with political correctness. I don't want to see any part of government under control of the party that wants to raise taxes and increase regulations that suppresses economic growth holds back employment and keeps people poor and beholden to government handouts.
<p>
Life under Obama was like living in a dystopia like in George Orwell's "1984" or Soviet Russia where everyone repeated lies as if they were the truth when I knew they were lies. "Your can keep your plan", "You can keep your doctor", "Insurance premiums will go down." "Hands up don't shoot." "You didn't create that". Scandal after scandal (gun walker, irs, new black panthers, Hillary's e-mail server, pay for play Clinton foundation, Uranium 1) ignored by the Department of Injustice under Holder and then Lynch. Just as bad was our leader bowing low to Muslim and Chinese leaders. The deterioration of race relations under Obama was a deliberate strategy of Democrat identity politics and put me and every other citizen in real physical danger. Obama let ISIS thrive which also put me in real physical danger of terrorist attacks in the US and outside. We know Obama's policy was to allow ISIS to thrive because Trump wiped them out upon taking office. How many deaths was Obama's duplicitous policy responsible for?
<p>
Living under Trump is like turning a light on when you think you are in a dim alley in winter and finding yourself out in the countryside on a spring day. It's like coming home after a trip to a 3rd world country. We can be proud of our country, proud of our accomplishments, and know that the government is truly trying to protect us from hostile forces inside and outside the country.
<p>
I don't want any part of the government to go back to Democrat control. It is not a theoretical issue about policy. It is a matter of living in a dangerous violent 3rd world dystopia or living in safety and security in the country I grew up in.
<p>
If other conservatives feel the way I do, turnout will high.

Congressman Devin Nunes spells out very clearly that the only evidence of "collusion" with Russians to influence the 2016 election is evidence of the FBI and the Hillary Clinton campaign colluding with Russians to use fake evidence to falsely implicate Trump. Is that what Mueller is investigating?

<p>
<b>Devin Nunes:</b> When Rosenstein appointed the special counsel, the lead investigator knew that there was no evidence of the Trump campaign colluding with the Russians. So what has the Special Counsel been doing this whole time? It really looks like, it's pretty clear now, that it is an investigation in search of a crime. Because the very thing the Trump campaign was investigated for, colluding with Russians, we now know that it was the Democratic Party colluding with Russians and feeding it to the top levels of the FBI. The general counsel of the FBI.
<p>
<b>Maria Bartiromo:</b> Wow. Wow. Have you spoken with with Robert Mueller in any way. I mean are you calling for Muller's investigation to be shut down as a result of what you just said?
<p>
<b>Nunes:</b> Well I don't want the investigatorn to be shut down. What I want the investigation to do is is determine who leaked the Flynn conversation? Who leaked general Flynn's conversations? I want them to investigate that. I want them to investigate who was behind fusion GPS? Who was fusion GPS talking to? What Russians were they talking to? Who was Christopher Steele talking to? I want to know all the Russians that fusion GPS interviewed, got information from, funneled into the Democrat Party, and then the Democratic Party funneled it to the FBI to open an investigation. That's what the Mueller investigation should be looking at.
<p>
<b>Bartiromo:</b> I understood because...
<p>
<b>Nunes:</b> I don't know what the hell they were looking at this whole time.

You have the power, with your vote, to defend your family, your community, your country, and everything we hold sacred, and righteous, and true. Loyal citizens like you helped build this country and together we are taking back our country returning power to every day great American patriots.
<p>
The state of Kansas was settled by tough pioneer men and strong women who defied danger and braved the wilderness to build a beautiful life on the plains. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Strong women. Strong women. Strong. I'm sorry fellas, stronger than the men, I'm sorry fellas. Strong. They didn't have a lot of money, they didn't have a lot of luxury, but they all had one thing in common. They loved their families, they loved their country, and they loved their God.
<p>
These courageous patriots did not shed their blood, sweat, and tears so that we could sit at home while others try to erase their legacy and destroy our proud and great American heritage. For the sake of our freedom, and for the sake of our children, we are going to work, we are going to fight, and we are going to win, win, win.
<p>
We will not bend, we will not break, we will never give in, we will never give up, we will never back down, we will never surrender, and we will always fight on to victory. Because we are American and our hearts bleed red, white, and blue. We are one people, one family, and one glorious nation under God.
<p>
And together, we will make America wealthy again. We will make America strong again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again. Thank you Kansas. Thank you. Thank you.

<li>The Washington establishment and the financial and media corporations that fund it exists for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself.
<p>
<li>The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election.
<p>
<li>For those who control the levers of power in Washington and for the global special interests they partner with, these people that don't have your good in mind, our campaign represents a true existential threat like they haven't seen before.
<p>
<li>This is not simply another four-year election. This is a crossroads in the history of our civilization that will determine whether or not we the people reclaim control over our government.
<p>
<li>The political establishment that is trying to stop us is the same group responsible for our disastrous trade deals massive illegal immigration and economic and foreign policies that have bled our country dry.
<p>
<li>The political establishment has brought about the destruction of our factories and our jobs as they flee to Mexico China and other countries all around the world.
<p>

<li>The Clinton machine is at the center of this power structure.

<li>Let's be clear on one thing, the corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism. They're a political special interest no different than any lobbyist or other financial entity with a total political agenda and the agenda is not for you it's for themselves.
<p>
<li>Anyone who challenges their control is deemed a sexist a racist a xenophobe.
<p>
<li>They will lie lie lie, and then again they will do worse than that.
<p>
<li>They will do whatever is necessary.
<p>
<li>The Clintons are criminals remember that this is well document and the establishment that protects them has engaged in a massive cover-up of widespread criminal activity at the State Department and the Clinton Foundation in order to keep the Clintons in power.
<p>
<li>They knew they would throw every lie they could at me and my family and my loved ones.
<p>
<li>They knew they would stop at nothing to try to stop me.
<p>
<li>Nevertheless I take all of these slings and arrows gladly for you.

<p>
<li>I knew this day would arrive.

<li>And I knew the American people would rise above it and vote for the future they deserve.
<p>
<li>The only thing that can stop this corrupt machine is you.

<li>The only force strong enough to save our country is us.

<li>The only people brave enough to vote out this corrupt establishment is you the American people.
<p>
<li>Our great civilization has come upon a moment of reckoning.
<p>
<li>I didn't need to do this I built a great company and I had a wonderful life.
<p>
<li>I could have enjoyed the fruits and benefit of years of successful business deals and businesses for myself my family instead of going through this absolute horror show of lies deceptions malicious attacks.
<p>
<li>Who would have thought.
<p>
<li>I'm doing it because this country has given me so much and I feel so strongly that it's my turn to give back to the country that I love.

Wow. What a group. What a group. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you, folks. Thank you, folks. It's great to be right here in Florida, which we love.
<p>
In 26 days, we are going to win this great, great state and we are going to win the White House.
<p>
<b>(1) Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt</b> — now, when I say "corrupt," I'm talking about totally corrupt — <b>political establishment, with a new government controlled by you, the American people.</b>
<p>
There is nothing the political establishment will not do — no lie that they won't tell, to hold their prestige and power at your expense. And that's what's been happening.
<p>
<b>(2) The Washington establishment and the financial and media corporations that fund it exist for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself.</b>
<p>
<b>(3) The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election.</b> As an example, just one single trade deal they'd like to pass involves trillions of dollars, controlled by many countries, corporations and lobbyists.
<p>
<b>(4) For those who control the levers of power in Washington, and for the global special interests, they partner with these people that don't have your good in mind. Our campaign represents a true existential threat like they haven't seen before.</b>
<p>
<b>(5) This is not simply another four-year election. This is a crossroads in the history of our civilization that will determine whether or not we the people reclaim control over our government.</b>
<p>
<b>(6) The political establishment that is trying to stop us is the same group responsible for our disastrous trade deals, massive illegal immigration and economic and foreign policies that have bled our country dry.</b>
<p>
<b>(7) The political establishment has brought about the destruction of our factories, and our jobs, as they flee to Mexico, China and other countries all around the world.</b> Our just-announced job numbers are anemic. Our gross domestic product, or GDP, is barely above 1 percent. And going down. Workers in the United States are making less than they were almost 20 years ago, and yet they are working harder.
<p>
But so am I working harder, that I can tell you.
<p>
<b>(8) It's a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.</b>
<p>
Just look at what this corrupt establishment has done to our cities like Detroit; Flint, Michigan; and rural towns in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina and all across our country. Take a look at what's going on. They stripped away these towns bare. And raided the wealth for themselves and taken our jobs away out of our country never to return unless I'm elected president.
<p>
<b>(12) The Clinton machine is at the center of this power structure.</b>
<p>
<b>(13) We've seen this first hand in the WikiLeaks documents, in which Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial powers, her special interest friends and her donors.</b>
<br>So true.
<br><b>Honestly, she should be locked up. Should be locked up.</b>
<p>
And likewise the e-mails show that the Clinton machine is so closely and irrevocably tied to the media organizations that she, that she — listen to this — is given the questions and answers in advance of her debate performance with Bernie Sanders.
<p>
Hillary Clinton is also given approval and veto power over quotes written about her in the New York Times.
<p>
They definitely do not do that to me, that I can tell you.
<p>
And the e-mails show the reporters collaborate and conspire directly with the Clinton campaign on helping her win the election all over.
<p>
With their control over our government at stake, with trillions of dollars on the line, the Clinton machine is determined to achieve the destruction of our campaign, not gonna to happen.
<p>
Which has now become a great, great movement, the likes of which our country has never seen before, never ever.
<p>
They've never seen a movement like this in our country before. Yesterday in Florida, massive crowds, people lined up outside of big arenas, not able to get in. Never happened before. It's one of the phenomenas — it's one of the great political phenomenas.
<p>
<b>(14) The most powerful weapon deployed by the Clintons is the corporate media, the press.</b>
<p>
<b>(15) Let's be clear on one thing, the corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism. They're a political special interest no different than any lobbyist or other financial entity with a total political agenda, and the agenda is not for you, it's for themselves.</b>
<p>
And their agenda is to elect crooked Hillary Clinton at any cost, at any price, no matter how many lives they destroy.
<p>
For them it's a war, and for them nothing at all is out of bounds.
<p>
<b>(9) This is a struggle for the survival of our nation, believe me. And this will be our last chance to save it</b> on Nov. 8, remember that.
<p>
<b>(10) This election will determine whether we are a free nation or whether we have only the illusion of democracy, but are in fact controlled by a small handful of global special interests rigging the system, and our system is rigged. This is reality.</b>
<p>
<b>(11) You know it, they know it, I know it, and pretty much the whole world knows it.</b> The establishment and their media enablers will control over this nation through means that are very well known.
<p>
<b>(16) Anyone who challenges their control is deemed a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe</b>, and morally deformed.
<p>
They will attack you, they will slander you, they will seek to destroy your career and your family, they will seek to destroy everything about you, including your reputation.
<p>
<b>(17) They will lie, lie, lie, and then again they will do worse than that.</b>
<p>
<b>(18) They will do whatever is necessary.</b>
<p>
<b>(19) The Clintons are criminals, remember that. They're criminals. This is well documented, and the establishment that protects them has engaged in a massive cover-up of widespread criminal activity at the State Department and the Clinton Foundation in order to keep the Clintons in power.</b>
<p>
Never in history have we seen such a cover-up as this, one that includes the total destruction of 33,000 e-mails, 13 iPhones – some by hammer – laptops, missing boxes of evidence, and many, many other things.
<p>
People who are capable of such crimes against our nation are capable of anything. And so now we address the slander and libels that was just last night thrown at me by the Clinton machine and the New York Times and other media outlets, as part of a concerted, coordinated and vicious attack.
<p>
It's not coincidence that these attacks come at the exact same moment, and all together at the same time as WikiLeaks releases documents exposing the massive international corruption of the Clinton machine, including 2,000 more e-mails just this morning.
<p>
These vicious claims about me of inappropriate conduct with women are totally and absolutely false.
<p>
And the Clintons know it, and they know it very well. These claims are all fabricated. They're pure fiction and they're outright lies. These events never, ever happened and the people that said them meekly fully understand. You take a look at these people, you study these people, and you'll understand also.
<p>
The claims are preposterous, ludicrous, and defy truth, common sense and logic. We already have substantial evidence to dispute these lies, and it will be made public in an appropriate way and at an appropriate time very soon.
<p>
These lies come from outlets whose past stories and past claims have already been discredited. The media outlets did not even attempt to confirm the most basic facts because even a simple investigation would have shown that these were nothing more than false smears.
<p>
Six months ago, the failing New York Times wrote a massive story attacking me, and the central witness they used said the story was false; that she was quoted inaccurately. She said that I was a great guy. She had great courage, I'll be honest with you. She was an amazing person. And never made those remarks — that I was a great guy, and never made the remarks.
<p>
And when I read the story, I was sort of surprised — how could she say that? And she didn't say it.
<p>
We demanded a retraction but, they refused to print it, just like they refused to print the comments from another source who praised me in her book, or the words of another wonderful woman who said really nice things about me. They put other statements that she didn't say, they misrepresented. The story was a fraud and a big embarrassment to The New York Times and it was a big front page story. Front page, center, color picture, a disgrace. They were very embarrassed; it will be part of the lawsuit we are preparing against them.
<p>
Now, today the same two discredited writers, who should've been fired from The New York Times for what they did, tell another totally fabricated and false story, that supposedly took place on an airplane more than 30 years ago. Another ridiculous tale, no witnesses, no nothing.
<p>
Then, there was a writer from People Magazine, who wrote a story on Melania and myself on our first anniversary. The story was beautiful. It was beautiful. It was lovely. But last night we hear that after 12 years — this took place 12 years ago, this story — a new claim that I made inappropriate advances during the interview to this writer.
<p>
And I asked very simple question, why wasn't it part of the story that appeared 20 or 12 years ago? Why wasn't it a part of the story? Why didn't they make it part of the story? I was one of the biggest stars on television with The Apprentice and I would've been one of the biggest stories of the year. Think of it, she's doing this story on Melania, who was pregnant at the time. And Donald Trump, our one year anniversary, and she said I made inappropriate advances, and by the way, the area was a public area, people all over the place.
<p>
Take a look, you take a look. Look at her, look at her words. You tell me, what you think. I don't think so. I don't think so.
<p>
But, it is amazing, doing a story — a love story — on how great we are together — and by the way, we're stronger today than we ever were before, which is good, but it's a love story. It's a love story on our one year. And if I did that, she would've added that it would've been the headline. And who would've done that if you're doing this and you're one of the top shows on television.
<p>
These people are horrible people. They're horrible, horrible liars. And interestingly, it happens to appear 26 days before our very important election, isn't that amazing?
<p>
This invented account has already been debunked by eyewitnesses who were there. They were there. The very witness identified by the author has said the story is totally false.
<p>
By the way, this is a room that everybody can see in. It's got glass walls. It's at Mar-A-Lago. It's got glass walls. Can you believe this? Why wasn't it in the story, biggest story of the year?
<p>
This weekend, The New York Times published a full-page hit piece with another claim from an individual who has been totally discredited based on the many, many, many e-mails and letters she has sent to our office over the years, looking for work, Donald is great, wanting go to my rallies. But The New York Times — and this was full op-ed piece — refused to use the evidence that we presented, refused to use it. If they used it, if they would have looked, they would have said, there's no story here.
<p>
Others in the media, which almost surprises me because they're dishonest also, were presented with the story by this woman numerous times, and they got very excited. But, after seeing the evidence that we immediately give them, all of them refused to write the story. There was no story.
<p>
The Times, though, didn't want to see it. They just wrote the story. And this was a full page opposite the editorials. This is part of a concerted effort, led by The New York Times and others. Now The New York Times is fighting desperately for its relevance and its financial survival. And it probably won't even be around in a few years, based on its financial outlook, which wouldn't be a bad thing, if you want to know the truth.
<p>
But, as it winds down its years and is becoming more and more problematic, it's gotten more and more vicious, more and more vile. And even the other mainstream media is talking about the single greatest pile-on in history, and all between now and Nov. 8. And you have to see the stories they've written, it's one after another, after another, and facts mean nothing, third-rate journalism. The great editors of the past from The New York Times and others, ladies and gentlemen, are spinning in their grave.
<p>
I will not allow the Clinton machine to turn our campaign into a discussion of their slanders and lies, but, will remain focused on the issues facing the American people.
<p>
Thank you, thank you. But, let me state this as clearly as I can, these attacks are orchestrated by the Clintons and their media allies. The only thing Hillary Clinton has going for herself is the press, without the press, she is absolutely zero.
<p>
And you saw that the other night in the debate, where some people said she made virtually a fool of herself. This is not presidential material, believe me. What they say is false and slanderous in virtually every respect. We are now less than a month from the most election of our lifetime. Indeed one of the most important elections in the history of our country. And the polls are showing us in a dead heat. Don't believe what you say.
<p>
The new, highly respected Rasmussen poll just came out this morning. Just released. Shows up nationally 2 points ahead, Trump. Beautiful.
<p>
Just came out. So now the Clinton machine has put forward a small handful of people out of tens of thousands of people over the years that I've met, that I've worked with, that I've employed, in order to make wild and false allegations that fail to meet even the most basic test of common sense. Not even common sense.
<p>
Again, this is nothing more than an attempt to destroy our movement and for the Clintons to keep their corrupt control over our government. When I declared my candidacy, I knew what bad shape our country was in. And believe me, all you have to do is look at world events. All you have to do is look at the $1.7 billion that we sent to Iran in cash – in cash.
<p>
All you have to do is see the way ISIS was created in the vacuum left by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama out of Iraq. All you have to do, all you have to do, is look at the 800 people that were very, very not good for our nation. They were going to be deported. Lo and behold, instead of being deported, they were made citizens of the United States just recently.
<p>
And lo and behold, sadly, the 800 people is wrong. It turned out to be close to 1,800 people. Our president is incompetent. All he wants to do is campaign, and the last thing he wants to happen is to have Donald Trump terminate Obamacare and do all of the other things that are destroying ...
<p>
He's led a very divided nation and it's only gotten worse. And the last thing our country needs is four more years of Barack Obama, believe me. I've seen firsthand the corruption and the sickness that has taken over our politics. You've seen it and I've seen it and we're all watching together.
<p>
<b>(20) They knew they would throw every lie they could at me and my family and my loved ones.</b>
<p>
<b>(21) They knew they would stop at nothing to try to stop me. But I never knew as bad as it would be. I never knew it would be this vile, that it would be this bad, that it would be this vicious.</b>
<p>
<b>(22) Nevertheless, I take all of these slings and arrows gladly for you.</b>
<p>
<b>(23) I take them for our movement so that we can have our country back.</b>
<p>
<b>(30) Our great civilization</b>, here in America and across the civilized world <b>has come upon a moment of reckoning.</b> We've seen it in the United Kingdom, where they voted to liberate themselves from global government and global trade deal, and global immigration deals that have destroyed their sovereignty and have destroyed many of those nations. But, the central base of world political power is right here in America, and it is our corrupt political establishment that is the greatest power behind the efforts at radical globalization and the disenfranchisement of working people. Their financial resources are virtually unlimited, their political resources are unlimited, their media resources are unmatched, and most importantly, the depths of their immorality is absolutely unlimited.
<p>
They will allow radical Islamic terrorists to enter our country by the thousands.
<p>
They will allow the great Trojan horse — and I don't want people looking back in a hundred years and 200 years and have that story be told about us because we were led by inept, incompetent and corrupt people like Barack Obama and like Hillary Clinton. We don't want to be part of that history.
<p>
And by the way, President Obama should stop campaigning and start working on creating jobs, start working on getting our GDP up, start working on strengthening our borders.
<p>
The corrupt political establishment is a machine, it has no soul. I knew these false attacks would come.
<p>
<b>(24) I knew this day would arrive.</b>
<p>
<b>(25) It's only a question of when.</b>
<p>
<b>(26) And I knew the American people would rise above it and vote for the future they deserve.</b>
<p>
<b>(27) The only thing that can stop this corrupt machine is you.</b>
<p>
<b>(28) The only force strong enough to save our country is us.</b>
<p>
<b>(29) The only people brave enough to vote out this corrupt establishment is you, the American people.</b>
<p>
We are going to have a policy: America first.
<p>
They control incredibly, the Department of Justice.
<p>
And they even secretly meet with the Attorney General of the United States. In the back of her airplane, while on the runway — remember he was there — he was going to play golf. Oh, oh gee, there's the Attorney General. Let me go say hello — plane's on the runway. Let me go say hello to the Attorney General. He never got to play golf, I understand. And it was Arizona, a place I love, but the weather was about a hundred and some odd degrees — he's not gonna play. He was never there to play golf, folks, don't be foolish.
<p>
They met for 39 minutes and most likely it was to discuss her reappointment, in a Clinton administration, as the Attorney General, just prior to making a decision over whether or not to prosecute Hillary Clinton, okay? That's what happened. That's called real life and that's pretty sad.
<p>
They met for 39 minutes. Remember he said, we talked golf and we talked about our grandchildren. Three minutes for the grandchildren, two minutes for the golf, then they sat there and they twiddled their thumbs. Now I believe they talked about her remaining in her position under a crooked Hillary Clinton administration. That's what I believe. That's what I believe folks. That's what I believe and I think that's what most people in this room believe.
<p>
Likewise, they've essentially corrupted the Director of the FBI to the point at which stories are already saying that the great — and they are truly great — men and women who work for the FBI are embarrassed and ashamed of what he's done to one of our truly great institutions, the FBI itself.
<p>
Hillary Clinton is guilty of all the things that Director Comey stated at his press conference and Congressional hearings and far more. He stated many things, but it's far more and he knows that. And yet, after reading all of these items, where she's so guilty, he let her off the hook. While other lives, including General Petraeus and many others, have been destroyed for doing far, far less. This is a conspiracy against you, the American people, and we cannot let this happen or continue.
<p>
This is our moment of reckoning as a society and as a civilization itself.
<p>
<b>(31) I didn't need to do this, folks, believe me — believe me. I built a great company and I had a wonderful life.</b>
<p>
<b>(32) I could have enjoyed the fruits and benefits of years of successful business deals and businesses for myself and my family. Instead of going through this absolute horror show of lies, deceptions, malicious attacks.</b>
<p>
<b>(33) Who would have thought?</b>
<p>
<b>(34) I'm doing it because this country has given me so much, and I feel so strongly that it's my turn to give back to the country that I love.</b>
<p>
Many of my friends and many political experts warned me that this campaign would be a journey to hell – said that. But they're wrong. It will be a journey to heaven, because we will help so many people that are so desperately in need of help.
<p>
In my former life, I was an insider as much as anybody else. And I knew what it's like, and I still know what it's like to be an insider. It's not bad. It's not bad. Now I'm being punished for leaving the special club and revealing to you the terrible things that are going on having to do with our country. Because I used to be part of the club, I'm the only one that can fix it.
<p>
<b>(35) I'm doing this for the people and for the movement, and we will take back this country for you and we will make America great again.</b>
<p>
The corrupt establishment knows that we are a great threat to their criminal enterprise. They know that if we win, their power is gone, and it's returned to you, the people, will be. The dark clouds hanging over our government can be lifted and replaced with a bright future. But it all depends on whether we let the corrupt media decide our future or whether we let the American people decide our future.
<p>
If this Clinton campaign of destruction is allowed to work, then no other highly success — and this is so true, I mean I've seen this so many times, and I've heard this all of my life, I've heard it all of my life. If we let this happen, then no other highly-successful person, which is what our country needs — it needs a certain thinking. When you look at our trade deals that are so bad, when you look, as an example, on trade, we're going to lose almost $800 billion this year, trade deficit, almost $800 billion. Our debt has doubled in seven and a half years to almost $20 trillion, under Obama.
<p>
No other successful person, after watching this, and no other very successful person will ever again, ever — and who can blame them? Even me, I'd say, you're right — will ever again run for office. I've heard it for years, if you're very successful, you can't run for high office, especially for President. I said, I don't care, I don't care. I've done so many deals, I've done so well. It's a certain mindset that we need in our country, at least for a period of time. We have to straighten our country out.
<p>
I will not lie to you. These false attacks are absolutely hurtful. To be lied about, to be slandered, to be smeared so publicly, and before your family that you love, is very painful. What is going on is egregious beyond any words. People that know the story, people that see the story, people that know the facts, they can't even believe it. It's reprehensible beyond description, it's totally corrupt.
<p>
But, I also know that it's not about me. It's about all of you and it's about our country. I know that. I fully understand that. That's why I got involved. It's about all of us together as a country. It's a movement the likes of which we have never in history in this country seen before, never in history. Even the pundits, even the media — that truly dislikes Donald Trump for their own reasons — will admit this is a movement the likes of which people have never seen before.
<p>
And it's a movement about the veterans who need medical care, the mothers who've lost their beloved children to terrorism and to crime. It's about the inner cities and the border towns who desperately need our help. It's about the millions of jobless people in America. It's about the American workers who can't get jobs because our jobs have left for Mexico and so many other countries.
<p>
This election is about the people being crushed by Obamacare. And it's about defeating ISIS and appointing a Supreme Court and a Supreme Court Justice --- it could be four or five — who will defend and protect our Constitution.
<p>
This election is also about, so importantly to me, African-American and Hispanic-American people whose communities have been plunged into crime, poverty and failing schools by the policies of crooked Hillary Clinton. Believe me, she's crooked.
<p>
They've robbed these citizens of their future and, if we win, I will give them their hope, their jobs, their education. I will give them their security back. The inner cities, education is almost worthless, it's horrible. We're going to have Common Core ended. We're going to bring education local.
<p>
But, you look at the inner cities and you see bad education, no jobs, no safety. You walk to the grocery store with your child and you get shot. You walk outside to look and see what's happening and you get shot. In Chicago, 3,000 people have been shot since Jan. 1. We're not going to let that happen. Our inner cities are almost at an all-time low, run by the Democrats for sometimes more than a hundred years, chain unbroken.
<p>
So they have no jobs. They have horrible education. They have no safety or security and I say to the African-American community, what the hell do you have to lose? I will fix it. I will fix it. I will make it good. I'll bring back our jobs. We'll have good education. We'll have great safety in the inner city.
<p>
And we will help the Hispanic-American people, who have been treated so badly and so unfairly in our nation, we will help them.
<p>
I will deliver like you've never seen before. I deliver. Whether people like Donald Trump or not, they all say he delivers.
<p>
Vote for Donald Trump. You're going to see something and you'll be so happy. You'll be so thrilled. This election is about every man, woman and child in our country who deserves to live in safety, prosperity and peace, so true. We will rise above the lies, the smears, the ludicrous slanders from ludicrous and very, very dishonest reporters.
<p>
We will vote for the country we want. We will vote for the future we want. We will vote for the politics we want and we will vote to put this corrupt government cartel out of business and out of business immediately.
<p>
We will vote for the special interests and say lots of luck, but you're being voted out of power. They've betrayed our workers, they've betrayed our borders and, most of all, they've betrayed our freedoms. We will save our sovereign rights as a nation. We will end the politics of profit. We will end the rule of special interests. We will end the raiding of our jobs by other countries. We will end the total disenfranchisement of the American voter and the American worker. Our Independence Day is at hand, and it arrives finally on Nov. 8.
<p>
Join me in taking back our country and creating a bright, glorious, and prosperous new future for our people. We will make America great again, and it will happen quickly.
<p>
God bless you. God bless you. Thank you. Thank you.

<p>
Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans, and people of the world, thank you.
<p>
We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and restore its promise for all of our people.
<p>
Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for many, many years to come.
<p>
We will face challenges, we will confront hardships, but we will get the job done.
<p>
Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power.
<p>
And we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition.
<p>
They have been magnificent.
<p>
Thank you. Thank you.
<p>
Today's ceremony; however, has very special meaning.
<p>
Because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the people.
<p>
<b>For too long, a small group in our nation's capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost.
<p>
Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth.
<p>
Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed.
<p>
The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country.
<p>
Their victories have not been your victories.
<p>
Their triumphs have not been your triumphs.
<p>
And while they celebrated in our nation's capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.</b>
<p>
That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment.
<p>
It belongs to you.
<p>
It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America.
<p>
This is your day, this is your celebration, and this -- the United States of America -- is your country.
<p>
What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.
<p>
January 20, 2017 will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.
<p>
The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.
<p>
Everyone is listening to you now.
<p>
You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement the likes of which the world has never seen before.
<p>
At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction that a nation exists to serve its citizens.
<p>
Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves.
<p>
These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public.
<p>
<b>But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists.
<p>
Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities, rusted out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation, an education system flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge, and the crime and the gangs and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.</b>
<p>
This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.
<p>
We are one nation and their pain is our pain, their dreams are our dreams, and their success will be our success.
<p>
We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny.
<p>
The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.
<p>
<b>For many decades, we've enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry, subsidized the armies of other countries while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military.
<p>
We've defended other nation's borders while refusing to defend our own.
<p>
And spent trillions and trillions of dollars overseas while America's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay.
<p>
We've made other countries rich while the wealth, strength, and confidence of our country has dissipated over the horizon.
<p>
One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores with not even a thought about the millions and millions of American workers that were left behind.
<p>
The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world.</b>
<p>
But that is the past and now we are looking only to the future.
<p>
We, assembled here today, are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power.
<p>
From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land.
<p>
From this day forward, it's going to be only America first.
<p>
America first.
<p>
Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs, will be made to benefit American workers and American families.
<p>
We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies, and destroying our jobs.
<p>
Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.
<p>
I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never, ever let you down.
<p>
America will start winning again -- winning like never before.
<p>
We will bring back our jobs.
<p>
We will bring back our borders.
<p>
We will bring back our wealth.
<p>
And we will bring back our dreams.
<p>
We will build new roads and highways and bridges and airports and tunnels and railways all across our wonderful nation.
<p>
We will get our people off of welfare and back to work, rebuilding our country with American hands and American labor.
<p>
We will follow two simple rules: buy American and hire American.
<p>
We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world, but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first.
<p>
We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example.
<p>
We will shine for everyone to follow.
<p>
We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones and unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the Earth.
<p>
At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America and through our loyalty to our country we will rediscover our loyalty to each other.
<p>
When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.
<p>
The Bible tells us how good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity.
<p>
We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.
<p>
When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.
<p>
There should be no fear.
<p>
We are protected and we will always be protected.
<p>
We will be protected by the great men and women of our
military and law enforcement.
<p>
And most importantly, we will be protected by God.
<p>
Finally, we must think big and dream even bigger.
<p>
In America, we understand that a nation is only living as long as it is striving.
<p>
<b>We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action constantly complaining, but never doing anything about it.
<p>
The time for empty talk is over.</b>
<p>
Now arrives the hour of action.
<p>
Do not allow anyone to tell you that it cannot be done.
<p>
No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America.
<p>
We will not fail.
<p>
Our country will thrive and prosper again.
<p>
We stand at the birth of a new millennium ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the Earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries, and technologies of tomorrow.
<p>
A new national pride will stir our souls, lift our sights, and heal our divisions.
<p>
It's time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget -- that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots.
<p>
We all enjoy the same glorious freedoms and we all salute the same great American flag.
<p>
And whether a child is born in the urban sprawl of Detroit or the windswept plains of Nebraska, they look up at the same night sky, they fill their heart with the same dreams, and they are infused with the breath of life by the same almighty creator.
<p>
So, to all Americans in every city near and far, small and large, from mountain to mountain, from ocean to ocean, hear these words: you will never be ignored again.
<p>
Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams will define our American destiny.
<p>
And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.
<p>
Together we will make America strong again.
<p>
We will make America wealthy again.
<p>
We will make America proud again.
<p>
We will make America safe again.
<p>
And yes, together we will make America great again.
<p>
Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America.
<p>
Thank you.
<p>
God bless America.

WASHINGTON, DC – Professor Jonathan Turley, a top national legal expert on government investigations, commented on Thursday about Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ decision to bring in U.S. Attorney John Huber. Turley called it “brilliant”to combine all the powers of the U.S. Department of Justice’s inspector general with a prosecutor who can bring charges, seek indictments, and get results for President Trump far more quickly than a second special counsel.

The founder's did that because they knew that <b>when government regulates speech and thought, it inevitably leads to the government controlling speech and thought for political purposes - to maintain authoritarian control by restricting criticism of the government. And this is what we are seeing today when "political correctness" has become a tool used by the Democrats to silence political opposition.</b>
<p>
People who think political correctness is good because it protects them from unpleasantness are becoming fewer and fewer as more and more of them become its victims rather than its wards.

Dave Rubin:
<br>2:10
<br><b>I'm a married gay man</b> so you might think that I appreciate government forcing a Christian Baker or photographer or florist to act against their religion in order to cater photograph or decorate my wedding, but you'd be wrong. <b>A government that can force Christians to violate their conscience can force me to violate mine.</b>
<p>
2:56
<br><b>Today's progressivism has become a full moral movement hurling charges of racism, bigotry, xenophobia, homophobia, Islamophobia, and a slew of other meaningless buzz words at anyone they disagree with.</b> the Battle of ideas has been replaced by a battle of feelings and <b>outrage has replaced honesty</b>. Diversity reigns supreme as long as it's not that pesky diversity of thought. This isn't the recipe for a free society. It's a recipe for authoritarianism. For these reasons I can no longer call myself a progressive. I don't really call myself a Democrat either. I'm a classical liberal, a free thinker, and as much as I don't like to admit it, defending my liberal values has suddenly become a conservative position. <b>So if you think people should be able to say what they think without being punished for it, that people should be judged by their behavior not their skin color, and that people should be able to live the way that they want to live without government interference, then there's not much left on the left for you.</b>
<p>
01:47
<br><b>Martin Luther King Junior's dream that his children would be judged by their character and not their skin color was a liberal idea but these days is not a progressive ideal.</b> And what about religious freedom: the idea that no one else can tell you what you have to believe? Surely progressives still support that basic right. Well not so much.
<p>
2:36
<br><b>I'm pro-choice but a government that can force a group of Catholic nuns literally called the Little Sisters of the Poor to violate their faith and pay for abortion inducing birth control can force anyone to do anything.</b> That's not progressive that's regressive.
<p>
0:42
<br><b>Progressives used to say, "I may disagree with what you say but I'll fight to the death for your right to say it."</b> Not anymore. Banning speakers whose opinions you don't agree with from college campuses, that's not progressive. Prohibiting any words not approved of as politically correct, that's not progressive.
<p>
1:11
<br>This has led me to believe that much of the left is no longer progressive but regressive. This is one of the reasons I've spent so much time on my show talking about the regressive left.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img src="http://c.statcounter.com/counter.php?sc_project=11426267&java=0&security=bbb339ce&invisible=1" alt="." border="0" height="1" width="1" /></div>George Madisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00553997812057601757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5914340008149117575.post-37162081716607472018-04-26T23:41:00.002-07:002018-05-03T22:28:12.316-07:00Larry Elder: The war on poverty was a neutron bomb dropped on the black family. Fatherlessness is responsible for social problems not racism.
The war on poverty is a war on the black family. The social problems attributed to racism are actutally caused by fatherlessness caused by the welfare state.

Larry Elder
<br>6:07
<br><b>The biggest burden that black people have in my opinion again is the percentage of blacks, 75% of them, that are raised without fathers. And that has every other social negative consequences connected to it:</b> crime, not being able to compete economically in the country, being more likely to be arrested, that's the number one problem facing the black community. And when I hear people tell me about systemic racism or unconscious racism I always say give me an example and almost nobody can do it.
<p>
<br>Dave Rubin
<br>6:35
<br>So the family stuff. I'll follow your logic there. Family stuff. What can actually be done about that?
<p>
<br>Larry Elder
<br>06:44
<br>Reverse to welfare state. In 1890 - 1900 you look at census reports a black kid believe it or not was slightly more likely to be born to a nuclear intact family than a white kid. Even during slavery a black kid was more likely to be born under a roof with his biological mother and biological father than today. What happened is <b>we launched this so-called war on poverty in the 60s. Where, literally, Lyndon Johnson sent people knocking on doors, and I lived in the 60s, and people knocked on doors apprising women of the availability the welfare provided there was no man in the house. And we went from 25% of blacks being born outside of wedlock and 65 to 75 percent right now.</b> And you look at how much money that we spent on welfare and the lines are parallel. <b>It was a neutron bomb</b> dropped on this country not just in the black community but on people in general. At one time only about 5% of whites were born outside of wedlock now 25% of whites are born outside of wedlock. I was in college in 1970 and there was a report called the Moynihan Report: The Negro Family, a Case for National Action, is written by liberal by a man who became a Democratic senator for the from New York. And at the time 25% of black kids were born outside of wedlock. He said my god this number is is horrific if we don't do something about it, it could get even higher. Well fast forward: 25% of white kids are now born outside of wedlock. It is the number one problem in this country and what we've done in my opinion is we economically incentivize women to marry the government we've allowed men to abandon their financial and more responsibility and now we have this.

It leads to people living in a false reality, a "bubble" where they believe what they want to believe not what is true. This is dangerous for any society.What is political correctness?
<p>
One good example of political correctness is the case of James Damore. He was compliant with Google rules for employee communication but he was fired anyway. Not censored, not reprimanded, not talked to, not corrected, but fired, because some people didn't like the facts he wrote of.
<p>
A large part of political correctness is independent of political views, it is when facts are censored because they create cognitive dissonance. It leads to people living in a false reality, a "bubble" where they believe what they want to believe not what is true. And this is dangerous for any society.
<p>
In some cases this censorship harms the people it is seemingly intended to protect. For example, there is a real problem in the US where minority students who have lower qualifications but are accepted at top universities through affirmative action often fail to graduate. In this case political correctness is harming the very people it is trying to help. It is cynically hypocritical. It helps the universities look good while harming the students. It is a hoax victimizing the "oppressed" for ulterior motives - a not uncommon facet of political correctness.
<p>
Maybe some women are harmed when they are denied information about the statistical differences in abilities between men and women. In some areas, fewer women than men are among the most talented. What if a woman is encouraged to enter a profession where she has a lower chance of success? I'm not saying she shouldn't be allowed to do it, but that she should have the facts (only the truth) so she can assess her own talents and potential based on facts not fantasy.
<p>
You could say Google's rules for employee communications were a hoax, intended for the ulterior motive of making Google look good, until they didn't make google look good, at which time the hoax, their hypocrisy, was revealed and supplanted by another hoax (ie. that there are no gender differences).

<p>

<i>Understanding Why NAFTA Exit is a Forgone Conclusion…</i> Posted on February 5, 2018 by sundance <a target=_blank href="https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/02/05/understanding-why-nafta-exit-is-a-forgone-conclusion/">https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/02/05/understanding-why-nafta-exit-is-a-forgone-conclusion/</a>
<p>
Why deal with the U.S. when you can just deal with Mexico, and use NAFTA rules to ship your product directly into the U.S. market?
<p>
This exploitative approach, a backdoor to the U.S. market, was the primary reason for massive foreign investment in Canada and Mexico; it was also the primary reason why candidate Donald Trump, now President Donald Trump, wanted to shut down that loophole and renegotiate NAFTA.
<p>
This loophole was the primary reason for U.S. manufacturers to relocate operations to Mexico. Corporations within the U.S. Auto-Sector could enhance profits by building in Mexico or Canada using parts imported from Asia/China. The labor factor was not as big a part of the overall cost consideration as cheaper parts and imported raw materials.
</blockquote>
<p>
"Free trade" is a myth because multinational corporations control supply in each country in order to get the highest possible price in each country. Theoretical arguments supporting free trade don't apply to international trade at the present time because global trade is not free trade.
<p>
Multinationals also lobby national governments to enact trade policies they prefer. Under the current international trade regime, trade policies favor undeveloped countries. This means multinationals can extract profits from trade agreements claimed to protect the poorer countries. They created an unfair system so they could extract profits from rich countries.
<p>
President Trump's trade policies, focusing on fair trade, are intended to prevent Americans from being exploited by multinational corporations and unfair trade agreements.

<p>
♦Multinational corporations purchase controlling interests in various national outputs and industries of developed industrial western nations.
<p>
♦The Multinational Corporations making the purchases are underwritten by massive global financial institutions, multinational banks.
<p>
♦The Multinational Banks and the Multinational Corporations then utilize lobbying interests to manipulate the internal political policy of the targeted nation state(s).
<p>
♦With control over the targeted national industry or interest, the multinationals then leverage export of the national asset (exfiltration) through trade agreements structured to the benefit of lesser developed nation states – where they have previously established a proactive financial footprint.

It is well known that the Inspector General is looking into how the FBI whitewashed the Clinton e-mail scandal. But it has also been revealed that the Justice Department is investigating several other matters including the Uranium One scandal and the Clinton Foundation pay-for-play scandal. There are also reliable reports of investigations into the illegal spying on Americans (including Trump campaign workers), and leaks of classified information.
<p>
From Fox News:
<p>
<blockquote>(11/13/17) EXCLUSIVE – Attorney General Jeff Sessions directed senior federal prosecutors to evaluate “certain issues” requested by congressional Republicans, involving the sale of Uranium One and alleged unlawful dealings related to the Clinton Foundation, leaving the door open for an appointment of another special counsel.
<p>
In a letter first obtained by Fox News, the Justice Department responded to July 27 and September 26 requests from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., and other committee members, who called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the matters in question.
<p>

<p>
Multiple sources, including congressional officials, tell Circa that the requests sent to the Department of Justice over the past year have led to ongoing investigations, which they say also include investigations into the alleged leaking of classified information to the media and the improper unmasking of Americans.

From The United States Department of Justice:
<p>
<blockquote>
The Division often receives questions about why it announces some, but not all, investigations. <b>In general, the Department of Justice does not publicly announce investigations</b> or investigative findings. There are several reasons for this policy. Announcing an investigation of some civil or criminal violations could make it more difficult to obtain witness cooperation or gather evidence. It also could result in the unfair identification of an individual as a person of interest to the federal government. The Department’s policy is described in the United States Attorneys Manual and regulations.

<p>
Some people want a special council to be appointed to investigate these matters but a special council is needed only when there is conflict of interest. After the Inspector General releases his report would be the appropriate time to appoint a special council to investigate the FBI since it would be inappropriate for the FBI to investigate itself. For the other matters not involving FBI, the Justice Department, or the current Administration, there is no need for a special council.
<p>
The Justice Department is investigating the crimes of the previous administration, but some people are still suspicious of Sessions' loyalty to President Trump. However, this is understandable because Trump has publicly criticized Sessions several times:

Sara Carter has written an article outlining the pros and cons of a second special council.

<p>
Although the Inspector General of the Justice Department is investigating FISA Court abuses, there are witnesses outside the Department of Justice that the Inspector General would not have access to. For this reason Trey Gowdy and Bob Goodlatte have requested Jeff Sessions appoint a special council to investigate the matter.
<p>
<i>Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Chairman Trey Gowdy Request DOJ Special Counsel…</i> Posted on March 6, 2018 by sundance

<a target=_blank href="https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/03/06/chairman-bob-goodlatte-and-chairman-trey-gowdy-request-doj-special-counsel/">https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/03/06/chairman-bob-goodlatte-and-chairman-trey-gowdy-request-doj-special-counsel/</a>
<blockquote>
“What changed for me was the knowledge that there are two dozen witnesses that Michael Horowitz, the [DOJ] Inspector General, would not have access to,” Gowdy said. “When I counted up 24 witnesses that he would not be able to access were he to investigate it, yeah only one conclusion, that’s special counsel.”
</blockquote>
<p>
According to Sundance at theconservativetreehouse.com (3/16/18), Sessions has not appointed a special council because the DOJ Office of Special Council is hopelessly biased and politicized. Sessions has correctly appointed a DOJ prosecutor from outside of Washington D.C. to investigate the matters.
<br>
<a target=_blank href="https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/03/16/former-fbi-deputy-director-i-think-youre-going-to-see-some-pure-tnt-come-out-in-this-ig-report/">https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/03/16/former-fbi-deputy-director-i-think-youre-going-to-see-some-pure-tnt-come-out-in-this-ig-report/</a>
<blockquote>
Additionally, and somewhat related, it was pointed out earlier today there is a very valid reason for AG Jeff Sessions not to appoint a Special Counsel. A review of the ideology –as noted within the Office of Special Counsel communications unit– shows a clear bias against the current administration. A bias that is NOT evident within the public communication prior to the Trump administration. The OSC has strongly expressed political views.
<p>
It is beyond likely the federal agency known as The Office of Special Counsel is every bit as politicized as the DOJ and FBI officials they would be tasked with investigating. Take a look for yourself. Therefore what AG Jeff Sessions previously explained as the process he has undertaken -bringing in an ‘outside of DC‘ prosecutor- begins to make more sense, albeit frustratingly methodical.
<p>
AG Jeff Sessions revealed March 8th, in an interview with Shannon Bream, that he previously appointed a DOJ official to investigate the issues delivered by Chairman Bob Goodlatte (House Judiciary), prior to receiving the request for a Special Counsel from Chairman Goodlatte and Trey Gowdy.

<blockquote>
First of all, while the IG cannot convene a grand jury and subpoena witnesses outside the DOJ’s employees, Huber can. And the IG can and does make criminal referrals. There is tremendous inside expertise on the DOJ resident in the IG’s organization, meaning that there is no start-up delay and no learning curve in getting to work on abuses. So, with the IG digging up information, and referring it to Huber, further steps, including subpoenas to former DOJ and FBI employees, such as Andrew McCabe and James Comey, can be taken before a grand jury in Utah. An indictments issued by that grand jury presumably could be tried before a federal jury in Utah, whereas a special counsel would most likely work with courts in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland, beltway strongholds. Which jury pool would you prefer? The District of Columbia or Utah?
<p>
Even more importantly, there is reason to believe that a lot of work already is underway by Huber and his staff.

<p>
<b>Uranium One</b>
<ul>
<li>The Obama administration allowed a Russian company to purchase a firm that mined Uranium in the US despite an on going FBI investigation into illegal activities by the Russian company. FBI and Obama administration officials including James Comey, Robert Mueller, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, Rod Rosenstein, and Andrew McCabe are implicated in allowing the sale despite the investigation and failing to inform other government officials about the investigation. At the same time large sums of money from Russia were paid to the Clinton Foundation. Allowing the sale of a company mining uranium in the US to Russia is contrary to the national security of the US, and doing so when it is known that the Russian firm was engaged in illegal activities is hard to explain except as a service in return for the payments to the Clinton Foundation made while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.
<li>FBI officials implicated in covering up the Uranium One scandal are now supervising the investigation into Russian influence in the Trump presidential campaign. There are obvious conflicts of interest and they should be removed from the investigation.
<li>Despite promises to the contrary, uranium was exported from the United States.[<a href=#dem_scandal_solomon2>Solomon</a>]
<li>"... there was a series of decisions made by the Obama administration time and time again, between 2010 and 2012 that are incredibly favorable to Russia’s ROSATOM, the state owned nuclear energy industry, time and again these decisions are being made while the FBI knowns that there criminality going on by that company’s executives"[<a href=#dem_scandal_solomon>Solomon</a>]
</ul>
<p>
<b>Fake Russian Dossier on Donald Trump</b>
<ul>
<li>: Foreign agents were paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic party for false information which if true would be embarrassing for Donald Trump. This was done to influence the 2016 election in Hillary Clinton's favor. The false information supposedly about Trump was provided by Russian officials. This is the type of collusion with Russia to influence the election that Trump is accused of but for which there is no actual evidence. All the collusion with Russians to influence the election is by the Democratic Party and the Hillary Clinton Campaign for the purpose of helping Clinton win.
<li>FBI director James Comey knowingly used the fake Dossier to argue for a special prosecutor to investigate the Trump campaign.
<li>The Fake Russian Dossier was used as evidence by the FBI to obtain warrants for electronic surveillance on the Trump campaign.[<a href=#dem_scandal_battleswarm>BattleSwarmBlog</a>]
</ul>
<p>
<b>Other Scandals</b>
<ul>
<li>Hillary Clinton private email server.
<li>Hillary Clinton took control of the Democratic Party before she won the primary, which allowed her to steal the primary from Bernie Sanders.[<a href=#dem_scandal_brazile>Brazile</a>] According to Greg Jarrett of Fox News, and <a href=#dem_scandal_battleswarm>BattleSwarmBlog</a> Clinton may have broken laws that limit donations to a political campaign and laws against money laundering.

<i>FBI uncovered Russian bribery plot before Obama administration approved controversial nuclear deal with Moscow</i> By John Solomon and Alison Spann - 10/17/17
<br>
<a target=_blank href="http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/355749-fbi-uncovered-russian-bribery-plot-before-obama-administration">http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/355749-fbi-uncovered-russian-bribery-plot-before-obama-administration</a>
<blockquote>
Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.
<p>...<p>
Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.
<p>...<p>
Rather than bring immediate charges in 2010, however, the Department of Justice (DOJ) continued investigating the matter for nearly four more years, essentially leaving the American public and Congress in the dark about Russian nuclear corruption on U.S. soil during a period when the Obama administration made two major decisions benefiting Putin’s commercial nuclear ambitions.
<p>...<p>
Then-Attorney General Eric Holder was among the Obama administration officials joining Hillary Clinton on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States at the time the Uranium One deal was approved.
<p>...<p>
The investigation was ultimately supervised by then-U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, an Obama appointee who now serves as President Trump’s deputy attorney general, and then-Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe, now the deputy FBI director under Trump, Justice Department documents show.
<p>
Both men now play a key role in the current investigation into possible, but still unproven, collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s campaign during the 2016 election cycle.
The Mikerin probe began in 2009 when Robert Mueller, now the special counsel in charge of the Trump case, was still FBI director. And it ended in late 2015 under the direction of then-FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired earlier this year.
<p>...<p>
Former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), who chaired the House Intelligence Committee during the time the FBI probe was being conducted, told The Hill that he had never been told anything about the Russian nuclear corruption case even though many fellow lawmakers had serious concerns about the Obama administration’s approval of the Uranium One deal.
<p>
“Not providing information on a corruption scheme before the Russian uranium deal was approved by U.S. regulators and engage appropriate congressional committees has served to undermine U.S. national security interests by the very people charged with protecting them,” he said. “The Russian efforts to manipulate our American political enterprise is breathtaking.”

<i>A Russian nuclear firm under FBI investigation was allowed to purchase US uranium supply</i> By Sara A. Carter 27 October 17, 2017

<a target=_blank href="https://www.circa.com/story/2017/10/17/national-security/the-fbi-uncovered-russian-nuclear-kickback-scheme-months-before-the-obama-administration-passed-uranium-one-deal-with-moscow">https://www.circa.com/story/2017/10/17/national-security/the-fbi-uncovered-russian-nuclear-kickback-scheme-months-before-the-obama-administration-passed-uranium-one-deal-with-moscow</a>
<blockquote>
Fifteen months before the 13 members of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, known as CFIUS, approved the sale of the Canadian company Uranium One to Russia’s nuclear arm giant Rosatom, the FBI began investigating persons who were connected to the Russian state corporation. The FBI said in court documents and in interviews conducted by Circa that by 2010 they had gathered enough evidence to prove that Rosatom-connected officials were engaged in a global bribery scheme that included kickbacks and money laundering. FBI officials said the investigation could have prevented the sale of Uranium One, which controlled 20 percent of U.S. uranium supply under U.S. law.
<p>
The deal which required approval by CFIUS, an inter-agency committee who reviews transactions that leads to a change of control of a U.S. business to a foreign person or entity that may have an impact on the national security of the United States. At the time of the Uranium One deal the panel was chaired by then-Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and included then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and then-Attorney General Eric Holder.
<p>...<p>
In a 2015 affidavit, FBI officials said Mikerin, “with the consent of higher level officials at Tenex and Rosatom (both Russian state-owned entities), would offer no-bid contracts to U.S. businesses in exchange for kickbacks in the form of money...” made to offshore accounts, stated the affidavit in support of a search warrant. Mikerin pled guilty to the allegations.
<p>
The Justice Department didn’t move forward an indictment with prosecution of bribery by people tied to Rosatom, through subsidies and other entities, until 2014 after CFIUS approved the sale of Uranium One, leaving the American public without knowledge of the Russian company’s allegedly illegal actives as it went to procure one-fifth of U.S. uranium supply.
<p>...<p>
The case being built against Mikerin in 2010 was under the supervision of Maryland U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, then an Obama appointee who now serves as President Trump’s deputy attorney general. According to court documents, the case was also handled by then Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who is currently the deputy FBI director under Trump.

<i>Mueller Now Investigating Democratic Lobbyist Tony Podesta</i> by TOM WINTER and JULIA AINSLEY,

WASHINGTON — Tony Podesta and the Podesta Group are now the subjects of a federal investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, three sources with knowledge of the matter told NBC News.

Tucker Carlson: Last night on this show we told you about how the Podesta Group, a lobbying firm co founded by Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta and his brother Tony had been sucked into independent counsul Robert Mueller's investigation of alleged Russian interference in American politics. Before last night's show was even over we got an e-mail from a man with direct personal knowledge of that story. The man who's name we can't reveal for the time being is a former senior employee of the Podesta Group. He worked there for years. He said he was motivated to contact us by the disgust he felt watching media coverage of the Russia story. Not only were most reporters getting it wrong he said they were getting it backwards. The Russians were in fact deeply involved in American politics but the real story had almost nothing to do with the 2016 presidential campaign.
<p>...<p>
Now the source we spoke to has been interviewed extesnsively by Robert Muller's independent investigators. In press accounts Muller's investigation is still framed as a hunt for collusion between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and the government of Russia. Our source says investigators are in fact very interested in Manaforts behavior while he ran the Trump campaign but otherwise that discription is mostly bogus. The investigation has broadened now to determine which people and which organizations in Washington have spent years working secretly as de facto operatives on behalf of Russian government and business interests. The Podesta group is chief among these. Quote they are more focused on facilitators of influence in this country says our source than they are on election collusion. The Podesta group he says quote is in their crosshairs.

<i>We Need an Investigation of the Entire Justice Department Now</i> BY ROGER L SIMON OCTOBER 25, 2017

<a target=_blank href="https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/need-investigation-entire-justice-department-now/">https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/need-investigation-entire-justice-department-now/</a>
<blockquote>
Bravo, Charles Grassley! The Iowa senator has turned into something of an aging Mr. Smith taking on corruption in the Obama administration (and its Justice Department) and calling for a special investigator for the metastasizing Uranium One Scandal.
<p>...<p>
Or should we now call this the Podesta, Podesta & Manafort Scandal, because an ongoing and related report on Tucker Carlson's cable show is unmasking a series of connections that make the most paranoid conspiracy theorist seem rational?
<p>...<p>
Meanwhile, over at the also related (phony) Trump Dossier Scandal:...
<p>...<p>
More disturbingly, indications are that the FBI itself relied on this execrable pack of nauseating lies to jump-start the Trump-Russia collusion investigation. They may even have made additional payments to Fusion GPS themselves.
<p>...<p>
... we also have the unanswered questions about Deborah Wasserman Schultz and her Pakistani computer expert who had access to the data of dozens of congressional Democrats, not to mention the unsolved mystery of the murder of Seth Rich and the hacking of the DNC server
<p>...<p>
And then's there's the Unmasking Scandal with its attendant mysteries. Who was ordering Samantha Powers to do hundreds of unprecedented unmaskings of U.S. citizens in foreign intelligence surveillances?
<p>...<p>
We have a systemic problem within the DOJ and FBI that has been going on for some years and has grown to the extent these organizations act like mini-states, impervious to supervision by anyone, especially the very people they are supposed to serve -- you and me. They are the Deep State taken to the tenth power.
<p>...<p>
The time has come for a thorough airing to renew the trust of the citizenry. That means a special investigator, but one with a wide berth to look into the entire DOJ and FBI, its patterns and practices, and, let's be honest, our intelligence agencies as well. We're living in a bureaucratic nightmare. As Mark Steyn put it so succinctly on Tucker Carlson's show Wednesday night, "Everyone is colluding with Russia except Trump!"

<i>Inside Hillary Clinton’s Secret Takeover of the DNC: When I was asked to run the Democratic Party after the Russians hacked our emails, I stumbled onto a shocking truth about the Clinton campaign.</i>
By DONNA BRAZILE | November 02, 2017

<blockquote>
<p>...<p>
I had promised Bernie when I took the helm of the Democratic National Committee after the convention that I would get to the bottom of whether Hillary Clinton’s team had rigged the nomination process...
<p>...<p>
I had to keep my promise to Bernie. I was in agony as I dialed him. Keeping this secret was against everything that I stood for, all that I valued as a woman and as a public servant.
<p>
“Hello, senator. I’ve completed my review of the DNC and I did find the cancer,” I said. “But I will not kill the patient.”
<p>
I discussed the fundraising agreement that each of the candidates had signed. Bernie was familiar with it, but he and his staff ignored it. They had their own way of raising money through small donations. I described how Hillary’s campaign had taken it another step.
<p>
I told Bernie I had found Hillary’s Joint Fundraising Agreement. I explained that the cancer was that she had exerted this control of the party long before she became its nominee. Had I known this, I never would have accepted the interim chair position, but here we were with only weeks before the election.
<p>...<p>
The agreement—signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and Robby Mook with a copy to Marc Elias—specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.

<p>
HANNITY: “The bribery, exhortation, money laundering, the racketeering, and so on.”
<p>
SOLOMON: “Yeah, Kickbacks. And theres a second thing that i’m just starting to report on now. There we concerns in the Obama administration that where very specific concerns that Russia was engaged in a Uranium scheme that it was going to get enough control of uranium, dump it on the market, drive all the prices down –“

The rule of law is the foundation of our system of government. In the vision of our Founders, we have “a government of laws—and not of men.”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions directed senior federal prosecutors to evaluate “certain issues” requested by congressional Republicans, involving the sale of Uranium One and alleged unlawful dealings related to the Clinton Foundation, leaving the door open for an appointment of another special counsel.

The Justice Department’s letter specifically said that some of the topics requested by Goodlatte and other committee members were already being investigated by the department’s Inspector General’s office.

30. Kautter's a tax (avoidance) expert. It's highly probable that Wray knows Kautter and may well have worked with him professionally. There's a fair chance Kautter was engaged by Wray as an expert witness in the many white collar crime cases he ran as an attorney.

The article below, critical of Robert Mueller, comes from a surprising source: the LA Times. Is it possible that Democrats are turning against Mueller because his indictment of Paul Manafort implicated the Podesta Group and now Democrats are afraid Mueller may indict Democrats in his investigation into Russian influence in the 2016 presidential election? Democrats have been praising Mueller for many months hoping his investigation will result in the removal from office of President Trump. They would have a hard time denying wrongdoing by Democrats indicted by Mueller after heaping such high praise on him for so long a time.

<blockquote>
Nevertheless, as I explained in connection with George Papadopoulos (who also pled guilty in Mueller’s investigation for lying to the FBI), when a prosecutor has a cooperator who was an accomplice in a major criminal scheme, the cooperator is made to plead guilty to the scheme. This is critical because it proves the existence of the scheme. In his guilty-plea allocution (the part of a plea proceeding in which the defendant admits what he did that makes him guilty), the accomplice explains the scheme and the actions taken by himself and his co-conspirators to carry it out. This goes a long way toward proving the case against all of the subjects of the investigation.
<p>
That is not happening in Flynn’s situation. Instead, like Papadopoulos, he is being permitted to plead guilty to a mere process crime. A breaking report from ABC News indicates that Flynn is prepared to testify that Trump directed him to make contact with the Russians — initially to lay the groundwork for mutual efforts against ISIS in Syria. That, however, is exactly the sort of thing the incoming national-security adviser is supposed to do in a transition phase between administrations. If it were part of the basis for a “collusion” case arising out of Russia’s election meddling, then Flynn would not be pleading guilty to a process crime — he’d be pleading guilty to an espionage conspiracy.

The FBI in late December reviewed intercepts of communications between the Russian ambassador to the United States and retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn — national security adviser to then-President-elect Trump — but has not found any evidence of wrongdoing or illicit ties to the Russian government, U.S. officials said.

The calls were picked up as part of routine electronic surveillance of Russian officials and agents in the United States, which is one of the FBI’s responsibilities, according to the U.S. officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss counterintelligence operations.

The White House said on Friday that it was the Obama administration that authorized former national security adviser Michael Flynn's contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during President Trump's transition, according to CNN.
<p>...<p>
According to court documents, Flynn lied to investigators when he told them that he did not ask Kislyak to refrain from retaliating against U.S. sanctions imposed by the Obama administration in response to the Russian meddling.
<p>
Flynn also lied when he told the FBI that he did not lobby Kislyak to oppose or delay a United Nations Security Council vote condemning Israeli settlements, a resolution strongly condemned by Trump.

But internet apps can reduce your attention span and harm your intellectual capacity.[<a href=#tech_comp_attention>Hill</a>] Having captured users' attention, internet applications can be used to manipulate public opinion through targeted advertising[<a href=#tech_comp_madrigal>Madrigal</a>] and biases in what they show in search results, suggestions, feeds and monetization[<a href=#tech_comp_barrett>Barrett</a>]. Compulsive use of apps is causing mental illness, self-harm[<a href=#tech_comp_chuck>Chuck</a>] and suicide[<a href=#tech_comp_twenge>Twenge</a>]. Computer games designed to make users play compulsively are also killing people who play until they drop dead.[<a href=#tech_comp_spragg>Spragg</a>] There are an increasing number of injuries and deaths from people using their cell phones compulsively while driving or walking.[<a href=#tech_comp_killing>Stock et. al.</a>] And tech companies have provided terrorist groups with the use of their compulsion inducing platforms for "'spreading extremist propaganda, raising funds and attracting new recruits'" which has led to the murder of innocent victims.[<a href=#tech_comp_carbone>Carbone</a>] The tech companies are culpable because their apps are designed to make you use them compulsively in order to generate more revenue. The tech companies have blood on their hands.
<p>
Because many internet applications make money from adverting, they are designed to keep people using them for as long as possible. And they use psychological tricks to produce compulsive behavior[<a href=#tech_comp_harris>Harris</a>]. These tricks include: alert notifications and sounds to get you to use the application, hiding the clock so you can't tell how long you've been using the application, tracking streaks to make sure you use the application every day, auto playing videos to grab your attention whether you intended to watch a video or not, and games may use repetitive music to put users in a trance-like state.
<p>
Sean Parker, the founding president of Facebook, said[<a href=#tech_comp_parker>Parker</a>]
<blockquote>
... The thought process that went into building these applications ... was all about: 'How do we consume as much of your time and conscious attention as possible?' And that means that we need to sort of give you a little dopamine hit every once in a while, because someone liked or commented on a photo or a post or whatever. And that's going to get you to contribute more content, and that's going to get you more likes and comments.
<p>
It's a social-validation feedback loop it's like exactly the kind of thing that a hacker like myself would come up with, because you're exploiting a vulnerability in human psychology. The inventors, creators - it's me, it's Mark [Zuckerberg], it's Kevin Systrom on Instagram, it's all of these people - understood this consciously. And we did it anyway.
<br>...<br>
God only knows what it's doing to our children's brains.

<p>
Chamath Palihapitiya, former Facebook vice president for user growth was quoted in a article in <i>The Verge</i>[<a href=#tech_comp_vincent>Vincent</a>]
<blockquote>
Chamath Palihapitiya, who joined Facebook in 2007 and became its vice president for user growth, said he feels “tremendous guilt” about the company he helped make. “I think we have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works,”
<p>...<p>
“The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops we’ve created are destroying how society works,” he said, referring to online interactions driven by “hearts, likes, thumbs-up.” “No civil discourse, no cooperation; misinformation, mistruth.
</blockquote>
<p>
He is saying that people post false information to the internet because they are addicted to likes.
<p>
Internet apps also reduce your attention span and intellectual capacity.[<a href=#tech_comp_attention>Hill</a>] When you use the internet, you learn to expect to find something interesting right away. This stimulates the pleasure neurotransmitters in the brain, but if you don't get that hit of pleasure right away, or after it wears off, you go and look for it somewhere else.[<a href=#tech_comp_attention>Hill</a>] This is why you might notice that sometimes you read a few sentences of an article or watch a minute of a video and then leave it to look at something else for a short time before moving on again and again. This reduction in attention span interferes with your ability to think things through at a deep level.
<p>
Smartphone apps designed to get users hooked[<a href=#tech_comp_greenwald>Greenwald</a>] are causing an increasing number of accidents and fatalities. Technology companies are literally killing people[<a href=#tech_comp_killing>Stock et. al.</a>], [<a href=#tech_comp_callahan>Callahan</a>] in their pursuit of profits.
<p>
Internet technology companies have billions of users. Their influence rivals that of nation states.[<a href=#tech_comp_mcnamee>McNamee</a>] Facebook has been shown to influence elections in the US by its ability to target ads to very specific groups of people without anyone except the advertiser knowing who is seeing the ads or what is in them.[<a href=#tech_comp_madrigal>Madrigal</a>]
<p>
Technology companies like Facebook, Google, YouTube, and Twitter, control what users see through search results, news feeds, advertising, suggestions, and by restricting access of account holders. They give preference to items in ways that reflect their employees' political biases. They control access to the public marketplace of ideas by ranking items they present to users and by banning users and account holders whose opinions they find objectionable.
<p>
There are many arguments offered by those attempting to defend the technology companies: they are just producing tools and cannot be responsible if people misuse them, people should take individual responsibility for their own actions, parents should supervise their children's use of technology, etc. However, none of these excuses are valid because technology companies deliberately use science and psychology to make products that cause people to use them compulsively. How are ordinary people supposed to stand up against large corporations putting out products scientifically designed to cause harm (compulsive use)? Many of these technology companies are the moral equivalent of drug pushers: trying to get children hooked early, ruining lives, and harming society, all for the sake of profits.

Facebook and Google get their revenue from advertising, the effectiveness of which depends on gaining and maintaining consumer attention. Borrowing techniques from the gambling industry, Facebook, Google and others exploit human nature, creating addictive behaviors that compel consumers to check for new messages, respond to notifications, and seek validation from technologies whose only goal is to generate profits for their owners.
<p>...<p>
Like gambling, nicotine, alcohol or heroin, Facebook and Google — most importantly through its YouTube subsidiary — produce short-term happiness with serious negative consequences in the long term. Users fail to recognize the warning signs of addiction until it is too late.
<p>...<p>
Consider a recent story from Australia, where someone at Facebook told advertisers that they had the ability to target teens who were sad or depressed, which made them more susceptible to advertising.
<p>...<p>
In the United States, Facebook once demonstrated its ability to make users happier or sadder by manipulating their news feed.
<p>...<p>
The fault lies with advertising business models that drive companies to maximize attention at all costs, leading to ever more aggressive brain hacking.
<p>...<p>
The Facebook application has 2 billion active users around the world. Google’s YouTube has 1.5 billion. These numbers are comparable to Christianity and Islam, respectively, giving Facebook and Google influence greater than most First World countries. They are too big and too global to be held accountable. Other attention-based apps — including Instagram, WhatsApp, WeChat, SnapChat and Twitter — also have user bases between 100 million and 1.3 billion. Not all their users have had their brains hacked, but all are on that path. And there are no watchdogs.
<p>...<p>
Incentives being what they are, we cannot expect Internet monopolies to police themselves. There is little government regulation and no appetite to change that. If we want to stop brain hacking, consumers will have to force changes at Facebook and Google.

“Think about the way digital information is conveyed, as short bits of information,” said Dr. Greenfield. “The idea of working on something in-depth over a long period of time is falling out of favor, because people are Googling, reading the first sentence of whatever comes up and then they’re done. People are using the Internet this way because most of the time they find what they want. When you find what you want you get a slight hit in your pleasure neurotransmitter because you’re getting satisfied, and as long as you get that hit you’re going to be more likely to keep doing it. We’re reinforced by that positive experience.”
<p>...<p>
“A concern that we have,” said Dr. Greenfield, “is that if you’re not using some of these deeper capacities for thinking, because you’re using a digital device as a section of your brain, then those skill-sets will atrophy.”

And this is exactly what product designers do to your mind. They play your psychological vulnerabilities (consciously and unconsciously) against you in the race to grab your attention.
I want to show you how they do it.
<p>...<p>
Hijack #1: If You Control the Menu, You Control the Choices
<p>...<p>
By shaping the menus we pick from, technology hijacks the way we perceive our choices and replaces them with new ones.
<p>...<p>
Hijack #2: Put a Slot Machine In a Billion Pockets
<p>...<p>
If you want to maximize addictiveness, all tech designers need to do is link a user’s action (like pulling a lever) with a variable reward. You pull a lever and immediately receive either an enticing reward (a match, a prize!) or nothing. Addictiveness is maximized when the rate of reward is most variable.
<p>...<p>
When we pull our phone out of our pocket, we’re playing a slot machine to see what notifications we got.
<p>...<p>
When we pull to refresh our email, we’re playing a slot machine to see what new email we got.
<p>...<p>
When we swipe down our finger to scroll the Instagram feed, we’re playing a slot machine to see what photo comes next.
<p>...<p>
When we swipe faces left/right on dating apps like Tinder, we’re playing a slot machine to see if we got a match.
<p>...<p>
When we tap the # of red notifications, we’re playing a slot machine to what’s underneath.
<p>...<p>
Hijack #3: Fear of Missing Something Important (FOMSI)
<p>...<p>
Another way apps and websites hijack people’s minds is by inducing a “1% chance you could be missing something important.”
<p>...<p>
Hijack #4: Social Approval
<p>...<p>
When I get tagged by my friend Marc, I imagine him making a conscious choice to tag me. But I don’t see how a company like Facebook orchestrated his doing that in the first place.
<p>...<p>
Hijack #5: Social Reciprocity (Tit-for-tat)
<p>...<p>
Like Facebook, LinkedIn exploits an asymmetry in perception. When you receive an invitation from someone to connect, you imagine that person making a conscious choice to invite you, when in reality, they likely unconsciously responded to LinkedIn’s list of suggested contacts.
<p>...<p>
Hijack #6: Bottomless bowls, Infinite Feeds, and Autoplay
<p>...<p>
News feeds are purposely designed to auto-refill with reasons to keep you scrolling, and purposely eliminate any reason for you to pause, reconsider or leave.
It’s also why video and social media sites like Netflix, YouTube or Facebook autoplay the next video after a countdown instead of waiting for you to make a conscious choice (in case you won’t).
<p>...<p>
Hijack #7: Instant Interruption vs. “Respectful” Delivery
<p>...<p>
Companies know that messages that interrupt people immediately are more persuasive at getting people to respond than messages delivered asynchronously (like email or any deferred inbox).
<p>...<p>
Hijack #8: Bundling Your Reasons with Their Reasons
<p>...<p>
For example, when you you want to look up a Facebook event happening tonight (your reason) the Facebook app doesn’t allow you to access it without first landing on the news feed (their reasons), and that’s on purpose. Facebook wants to convert every reason you have for using Facebook, into their reason which is to maximize the time you spend consuming things.
<p>...<p>
Hijack #9: Inconvenient Choices
<p>...<p>
Businesses naturally want to make the choices they want you to make easier, and the choices they don’t want you to make harder.
<p>...<p>
For example, NYTimes.com lets you “make a free choice” to cancel your digital subscription. But instead of just doing it when you hit “Cancel Subscription,” they send you an email with information on how to cancel your account by calling a phone number that’s only open at certain times.
Hijack #10: Forecasting Errors, “Foot in the Door” strategies
<p>...<p>
Hijack #10: Forecasting Errors, “Foot in the Door” strategies
<p>...<p>
Lastly, apps can exploit people’s inability to forecast the consequences of a click.
<p>...<p>
People don’t intuitively forecast the true cost of a click when it’s presented to them. Sales people use “foot in the door” techniques by asking for a small innocuous request to begin with (“just one click to see which tweet got retweeted”) and escalate from there (“why don’t you stay awhile?”). Virtually all engagement websites use this trick.
<p>...<p>
I’ve listed a few techniques but there are literally thousands.

... a growing body of research suggests that the use of social networks including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter may have negative consequences, like increasing your chances of depression or social isolation. Indeed, simply having your phone around could lower your cognitive capacity.

<i>Our cellphones are killing us</i> By Maureen Callahan June 18, 2016

<blockquote>
Last Christmas Day, 33-year-old Joshua Burwell walked right off a cliff and fell 60 feet to his death in California. “He wasn’t watching where he was walking,” Bill Bender of San Diego Lifeguards told NBC News. “He was looking down at the device in his hands.”
<p>...<p>
According to the CDC, over eight people are killed and 1,161 are injured each day in the US by distracted driving. Texting while driving is now the leading cause of teenage deaths in this country. Anecdotally, emergency rooms are seeing an uptick of injuries to “petextrians” — people who text while walking and have, say, run into a 300-pound bear (California, 2012), fallen into a fountain at the mall (Pennsylvania, 2011) or fallen onto train tracks (Pennsylvania, 2012).
<p>...<p>
According to a 2012 Time magazine study, 84 percent of people around the world said they couldn’t go a single day without their cellphones. Clearly, they mean it.
<p>...<p>
According to the Time magazine study, 50 percent of American adults admitted to sleeping with their cellphone, holding it like a security blanket.
<p>...<p>
Aside from research that shows our brains release dopamine and serotonin — those feel-good chemicals triggered by drugs, sex, and now text message alerts and likes on Instagram — there’s another, bleaker aspect to our dependence: an inability to tolerate our own thoughts, or to register that there are others around us.
<p>...<p>
A few years after Steve Jobs died, reporter Nick Bilton revealed that the Apple co-founder wouldn’t let his own children use the iPad.
<p>...<p>
“We have seen the dangers of technology firsthand,” then-Wired editor Chris Anderson said. “I’ve seen it in myself. I don’t want to see that happen to my kids.”

<i>Smartphones Are Killing Americans, But Nobody’s Counting</i> By Kyle Stock, Lance Lambert, and David Ingold October 17, 2017, bloomberg.com
<br><a target=_blank href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-17/smartphones-are-killing-americans-but-nobody-s-counting">https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-17/smartphones-are-killing-americans-but-nobody-s-counting</a>
<blockquote>
Amid a historic spike in U.S. traffic fatalities, federal data on the danger of distracted driving are getting worse.
<p>...<p>
Over the past two years, after decades of declining deaths on the road, U.S. traffic fatalities surged by 14.4 percent. In 2016 alone, more than 100 people died every day in or near vehicles in America, the first time the country has passed that grim toll in a decade.
<p>...<p>
From 2014 to 2016, the share of Americans who owned an iPhone, Android phone, or something comparable rose from 75 percent to 81 percent.
<p>...<p>
These days, we’re pretty much done talking. Texting, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are the order of the day—all activities that require far more attention than simply holding a gadget to your ear or responding to a disembodied voice.
<p>...<p>
Finally, the increase in fatalities has been largely among bicyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians—all of whom are easier to miss from the driver’s seat than, say, a 4,000-pound SUV—especially if you’re glancing up from your phone rather than concentrating on the road.

<i>Have Smartphones Destroyed a Generation?</i> JEAN M. TWENGE SEPTEMBER 2017

<blockquote>
Around 2012, I noticed abrupt shifts in teen behaviors and emotional states. The gentle slopes of the line graphs became steep mountains and sheer cliffs, and many of the distinctive characteristics of the Millennial generation began to disappear. In all my analyses of generational data—some reaching back to the 1930s—I had never seen anything like it.
<p>...<p>
The arrival of the smartphone has radically changed every aspect of teenagers’ lives, from the nature of their social interactions to their mental health. These changes have affected young people in every corner of the nation and in every type of household. The trends appear among teens poor and rich; of every ethnic background; in cities, suburbs, and small towns. Where there are cell towers, there are teens living their lives on their smartphone.
<p>...<p>
Rates of teen depression and suicide have skyrocketed since 2011. It’s not an exaggeration to describe iGen as being on the brink of the worst mental-health crisis in decades. Much of this deterioration can be traced to their phones.

Any video game player worth their salt knows the feeling. Just ONE more level, ONE more achievement, ONE last item before dinner, sleep, or (shudder) some actual human interaction. Four hours later, and you’re still staring blankly at the screen, mouth ajar, hands balled up into an arthritic mass of digits, and any thoughts you once had about tending to your basic human needs are long since forgotten or pushed off indefinitely as you plug along for that never ending quest for virtual fulfillment.
<p>...<p>
It’s easy to forget that our own bodies need as much tending to as our farms or guilds, heck, maybe even more so. Here’s a list of people who died neglecting their real-life health bars for their video game equivalents.

The three tech companies, the complaint argues, have “for years knowingly and recklessly provided the terrorist group ISIS with accounts to use its social networks as a tool for spreading extremist propaganda, raising funds and attracting new recruits."

<blockquote>
When Facebook was getting going, I had these people who would come up to me and they would say, 'I'm not on social media.' And I would say, 'OK. You know, you will be.' And then they would say, 'No, no, no. I value my real-life interactions. I value the moment. I value presence. I value intimacy.' And I would say, well you're a conscientious objector that's okay you don't have to participate, but you know we'll get you eventually.'
<p>
And like, I don't know if I really understood the consequences of what I was saying, because the unintended consequences of a network when it grows to a billion or 2 billion people and it begins, it literally changes your relationship with society, with each other. It probably interferes with productivity in weird ways. God only knows what it's doing to our children's brains.
<p>
If the thought process that went into building these applications, Facebook being the first of them to really understand it, that thought process was all about: 'How do we consume as much of your time and conscious attention as possible?' And that means that we need to sort of give you a little dopamine hit every once in a while, because someone liked or commented on a photo or a post or whatever. And that's going to get you to contribute more content, and that's going to get you more likes and comments.
<p>
It's a social-validation feedback loop it's like exactly the kind of thing that a hacker like myself would come up with, because you're exploiting a vulnerability in human psychology." The inventors, creators — it's me, it's Mark [Zuckerberg], it's Kevin Systrom on Instagram, it's all of these people — understood this consciously. And we did it anyway.

Thankfully, the analog world is still here, and not only is it surviving but, in many cases, it is thriving. Sales of old-fashioned print books are up for the third year in a row, according to the Association of American Publishers, while ebook sales have been declining. Independent bookstores have been steadily expanding for several years. Vinyl records have witnessed a decade-long boom in popularity (more than 200,000 newly pressed records are sold each week in the United States), while sales of instant-film cameras, paper notebooks, board games and Broadway tickets are all growing again.

Chamath Palihapitiya, who joined Facebook in 2007 and became its vice president for user growth, said he feels “tremendous guilt” about the company he helped make. “I think we have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works,” he told an audience at Stanford Graduate School of Business, before recommending people take a “hard break” from social media.
<p>...<p>
Palihapitiya’s criticisms were aimed not only at Facebook, but the wider online ecosystem. “The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops we’ve created are destroying how society works,” he said, referring to online interactions driven by “hearts, likes, thumbs-up.” “No civil discourse, no cooperation; misinformation, mistruth. And it’s not an American problem — this is not about Russians ads. This is a global problem.”

<i>These Tech Insiders Are Shielding Their Children From The Technology They Work With</i> BUSINESS INSIDER
31 MAR 2018
<br>
<a target=_blank href="https://www.sciencealert.com/tech-insiders-are-shielding-their-children-from-the-tech-they-work-with">https://www.sciencealert.com/tech-insiders-are-shielding-their-children-from-the-tech-they-work-with</a>
<blockquote>
Instead of tricking out their homes with all the latest technology, many of today's parents working or living in the tech world are limiting – and sometimes outright banning – how much screen time their kids get.
<p>
The approach stems from parents seeing firsthand, either through their job, or simply by living in the Bay Area – a region home to the most valuable tech companieson Earth – how much time and effort goes into making digital technology irresistible.
<p>
A 2017 survey conducted by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation found among 907 Silicon Valley parents that despite high confidence in technology's benefits, many parents now have serious concerns about tech's impact on kids' psychological and social development.
<p>
"You can't put your face in a device and expect to develop a long-term attention span," Taewoo Kim, chief AI engineer at the machine-learning startup One Smart Lab, told Business Insider.
<p> ... <p>
"The tech companies do know that the sooner you get kids, adolescents, or teenagers used to your platform, the easier it is to become a lifelong habit," Koduri told Business Insider.
<p>
It's no coincidence, he said, that Google has made a push into schools with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and the learning management suite Google Classroom.
<p> ... <p>
Erika Boissiere has little doubt that tech is poison to young brains.
<p>
The 37-year-old mum of two in San Francisco works as a family therapist alongside her husband.
<p>
She said they both make an effort to stay current with screen-time research, which, despite suffering a lack of long-term data, has nevertheless found a host of short-term consequences among teens and adolescents who are heavy users of tech.
<p>
These include heightened risks for depression, anxiety, and, in extreme cases, suicide.
<p> ... <p>
Boissiere will go to great lengths to prevent her kids, 2-year-old Jack and 5-year-old Elise, from having even the most basic interactions with technology. She and her husband haven't installed any TVs in the house, and they avoid all cell-phone use in the kids' presence – a strict policy the couple also requires of their 28-year-old nanny, who Boissiere said has been caught scrolling on the job.
<p> ... <p>
Silicon Valley's low- and anti-tech parents may seem overly cautious, but they actually follow longstanding practices of former and current tech giants like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Tim Cook.
<p>
In 2007, Gates, the former CEO of Microsoft, implemented a cap on screen time when his daughter started developing an unhealthy attachment to a video game. Later it became family policy not to allow kids to have their own phones until they turned 14.
<p>
Today, the average American child gets their first phone around age 10.
<p>
Jobs, the CEO of Apple until his death in 2012, revealed in a 2011 New York Times interview that he prohibited his kids from using the newly-released iPad.
<p>
"We limit how much technology our kids use at home," Jobs told reporter Nick Bilton.
<p>
Even Cook, the current Apple CEO, said in January that he doesn't allow his nephew to join online social networks. The comment followed those of other tech luminaries, who have condemned social media as detrimental to society.
<p> ... <p>
One of the more hopeful studies, and one often cited by psychologists, was published in 2014 in the peer-reviewed journal Computers in Human Behaviour.
<p>
It involved roughly 100 pre-teens, half of whom spent five days on a tech-free retreat engaged in activities like archery, hiking, and orienteering. The other half stayed home and served as the control.
<p>
After just five days at the retreat, researchers saw huge gains in empathy levels among the participating kids. Those in the experimental group started scoring higher in their nonverbal emotional cues, more often smiling at another child's success or looking distressed if they witnessed a nasty fall.
<p>
The researchers concluded: "The results of this study should introduce a much-needed societal conversation about the costs and benefits of the enormous amount of time children spend with screens, both inside and outside the classroom."
<p> ... <p>
But around Silicon Valley, a number of low-tech schools have popped up in an effort to reintroduce the basics.
<p> ... <p>
In their 2017 book Screen Schooled, the co-authors make the case that technology does far more harm than good, even when it's used to boost scores in reading and maths.
<p>
"It's interesting to think that in a modern public school, where kids are being required to use electronic devices like iPads, Steve Jobs's kids would be some of the only kids opted out," they wrote.
...
As the authors wrote, "What is it these wealthy tech executives know about their own products that their consumers don't?".
<p> ... <p>
